Hats off to you...for doing this job yourself. I been contemplating for months whether to try it myself. finally took it in to have done and paying tons of labor charge to hae fixed. They and everywhere else I researched said that all the stuff had to be removed to get to the pump. The turbo, the intake manifold, etc.. Wow...who would've thunk to take the 5 bolts out and the water pump housing apart. Thank you for the great video. I'm just 1 week late of seeing it. Dang, $$$.

Thanks I saw someone from the forum said to take the 5 bolts out of not I would have never thought of it. Even then it wasn't the easiest. Unfortunately seems like it's too late but hopefully I can help as many people out with it

amazing vid. had massive problems with downshaft going to converter and getting the actual pump out, but overall great video and advice. IF YOURE READING THIS BUY THE MAGNET. BEST TOOL EVER.

Hi Alex, thanks for the great video. One question, I removed the 2 large bolts holding the pump in place, as well as, the 3 bolts on the gear, but the pump will no come off. Are any of the other 5 bolts on the water pump holding it on the block?

If I remember correctly it's just those 2 large bolts. It might be bit stuck but with a bit of prying it should come off

Alex, how did you know the pump was going bad?

It was leaking coolant and it was overheating the fans were on constantly even after he turned the car off

Thank you, just wondering because my wife's Sky it starting to leak from the pump. I am glad it doesn't leak into the crankcase when they go bad. 🙂

How long did it take you total and how much trouble was the downpipe?

It took me a good while probably at least 8 hours between the filming and trying to find the tools

How did you remove the down pipe? I took the screws from the top and the bottom but it’s hitting the frame

You have to like twist it as you are pulling it down from the bottom took me a couple of tries

You don't need to remove it and you don't need to remove the thermostat housing out . just pull the thermostat housing to the back with the bolt on , it will give you enough space to remove the coolant pipe
