This was amongst the best shows on TV those days. Brought up deeply disturbing issues, including the one that has the most impact on people in their late 50s - this one on old age. With the average age increasing to 70 or thereabouts, older parents are dependent on the 55-year-old wage earner, whose children in their 20s have yet to move out of the home. 30 years ago, when the average age was in the 60s, parents would pass on, and children would become wage earners. No amount of savings is preparing us to live 30 years beyond retirement.

When I ask myself why the younger generation disrespect their parents the only conclusion I come up with is that they weren't taught otherwise. Even if they were, they must've been given leeway or they weren't led with examples. I do observe a lot of people talking to other elders without respect in front of their kids! What will the kid learn? Just the same with treating women. Mothers should teach their kids to treat women with respect. And thats how the fathers should treat their wives.

I cried seeing this video, but when I think practically, the moral responsibility can not be forced in any relationship.Even if a drunk father physically abuse his kids or a mother in law treat her daughter in law in inhuman way etc. What can be best done is to think about one's own safety first. Start saving for your old age in young age and keep that money safe so that dependencies​​ on anyone (even kids) do not arise.Have a social group as age proceede.

dont have to listen to the show. go out and see for yourself how kids treat their elders these days.. go visit old age homes for yourself. there was an old woman who made the pavement outside my house her home because she couldnt take her son's and daughter in law's abuse. Just because SMJ or Aamir Khan might make money doesnt mean what the show conveys is rubbish. Being naive is dumb.... but being skeptical about everything in life is not gonna bring u any happiness either.
