@@bradrozelle3999 That could be, but in the Singapore show he was very frenetic and hyper. (I understand he was tired so drank 2 energy drinks, and they worked!) KO. That "man" is quite literally not of this world. His purity in both spirit & voice are so GENUINE he authentically does justice. That is why he is so strategically placed where he is THAT guy. He, whether beatboxing, slaying Beyonce, giving us goosies with his angelic tenor, or arranging the body/atmospheric percussion, writing or arranging, he contributes that X factor. They choose to place his special voice in those places on the songs that grab our guts. That said.....PLEASE Sir Nick....you said the word a handful of times at the beginning.....Imagine is the song you need. Trust me. Blessings!

I believe it’s absolutely a conscious decision when and how they unleash Kevin’s voice. TBH, I think that’s true of all of them. One of the things I love most about this group is the lack of ego. Their primary objective is who’s voice serves the music/song/lyric the best. Love them so so much. 🥰

I absolutely adore when Scott and Avi sing lead vocals in a close duet. Their voices sound so utterly amazing together. Drummer boy highlights this as well. I think they are very aware of how and where they use Kevin’s singing voice. His main skill set (beatboxing) is so essential and not easily covered by the others if he sings. And his voice really is so pure, it is like a beautiful treat when he sings. Gotta keep it back for the big moments for maximum impact. Also, I was raised in an industrial area.. my dad was both a pipe fitter and a truck driver. And then after i grad, i was an engineer at the steel mill.. foul language is not new to me and sometimes those words are the only way to get across the magnitude of your feelings or describe what you are experiencing. I assumed the video wasn’t up because of copyright... we’ve all seen it a thousand times. We know the video. ;)

Thank you for appreciating these people and their talent. I feel Kevin is given solos in most of the hard hitting, meaningful songs. Especially the ones that have a Christian attachment. Kevin is very religious, and I think they know the impact to him and the audience whenever he takes over.
@hernameispekka_Rebecca2 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. Especially when he was new to singing, but also now, his voice can have such a pure and innocent, almost childlike quality. It hits you in the emotions instantly, especially with how they place it in those epic or poignant songs. And I agree that they do realize the meaning of having Kevin singing in the more religious songs since he feels it. Same with how I loved that Matt & Kevin opened and ended it in Amazing grace.

Early Kevin solos were a different breed. Now he can hold his own with the rest but in the early few years of Pentatonix, bringing out Kevin felt different. He was training with Avi to learn how to sing and his voice sounded very innocent and pure. It felt like when they bring out little Timmy to sing the national anthem at a game and you can tell he's going to be amazing if he keeps at it. But then you realize that this little Timmy is being raised by unicorns... and they might be raising a monster.

My favorite of all their Christmas songs! ("O Come All Ye Faithful" is a close second). Not only a beautiful rendition with the superb harmonies, but the cinematography in this is outstanding. Did you notice that in the second half of the video, they often showed Kirstie framed by the opening of the cave with the light behind her looking similar to the classic portrayal of Mary/The Madonna with a halo/aura? Thank you, thank you! I love this video so much and I just *knew* your reaction would be epic. I'm SG1Fan, by the way, aka FoxPhile aka Heidi. I think this is perhaps the greatest example of just how well PTX arranges their voices to present a song at its absolute best. How they each get solos, but then the blending of Scott and Avi - not the most common - followed by the blending of Kirsten and Mitch which is just angelic. Then Kevin comes in with that heavenly voice that is just beyond perfect for some of the most profound verses in the song. Add in the amazing sections where they all blend together - either in a round that leads to that powerful crescendo or the very soft and beautiful ending. To say nothing of the Mitch slap on “the Great I AM!” Thank you again for this reaction. It was all I hoped it would be.
