Saucony Endorphin Pro+ Full Review after 77 Miles

I know this is a review video, but I still wanted to get on here and say that I just completed my first marathon today (3:43:57; Endorphin Pro 1). I’ve always been an athlete but never a runner. I started training for a virtual half marathon last summer, which I ran in November of last year. I’ve fallen in love with this sport and since I started my running journey, I’ve been watching Seth’s videos. His relentless positivity and love for the sport is something that’s rubbed off on me by just watching the videos. Watching his vlogs leading up to Pikes helped motivate me and seeing him win was one of my favorite vids. Thank you for the motivation, the tips, the tricks, and reviews. They helped leading up and in the race. Can’t wait till the next 26.2. Onward and upward…DGR 💪

Being that I do triathlon and am dumping water over me and my shoes end up soaking wet, I’m not sure the weight difference really matters. A better lockdown is probably more important. Great review and thanks!

Lockdown is great in the pro plus. I've already run a marathon in them. No slipping, rubbing, chafing or blistering and didn't even use a runner's knot.

Saucony made a statement that they will not be making the pro+ again. It's a one time release that was meant to spark innovation in the racing shoe scene. Pretty bold considering they're also attempting to inspire the competition.

Another great vlog Seth - I ran the Manchester marathon yesterday in the UK and went for the Endorphin speed 1's - love them - first time ran marathon distance in them but they performed really well. Got a 15 min PB as well :) 3 hr 49 - Lot's to take away from the race as it didn't go to plan and remembered - you can only control what you can control.. Never stop learning and improving - A 50 year old every day runner :)

I rarely disagree with Seth, but the fact that he rarely mentions Atreyu in his racing shoe lineup is surprising. $100 carbon shoe that is as light as all of these and it feels fantastic! So, just giving a shout out to my fav racing shoe!

Really enjoying the Pro Plus as a marked improvement over the original Pro. A little hard to lace up given the unfortunate lack of a gussetted tongue. Yet the lighter ride is a lot more fun! This is a terrific 5 K or 10 K road racer. Also it is the first Saucony with a touch of real style. Didn’t bring them to Boston with me, however. VaporFly 2 for the Marathon tomorrow

QD: Altra MaxTrac outsoles are obsolete. I’m putting that energy out there in the most positive way because I love me some Superiors but won’t buy them until the outsole is durable and grippy.

Not too sure if you noticed, but you had a Pro2 up on display.. I got a sore spot from mine after the first run. Just where the lining goes under you're ankle on the outside. I think the way my foot strikes, just puts extra pressure on that area of my foot. I've since put some comfy insoles ( swapped out the original one ) and they feel even more amazing. Sadly, still get sore feet when I run in them. Saucony Australia sent me a pair and then I bought a pair also. Love the look, they don't feel s good as the OG or 2, but as you know, a completely different shoe for racing. Personally, I wouldn't race anywhere over a half Marathon in these. Pro2 I would of the Speed2. Ultimate.....

Endorphin speed one, best trainer imo. Only thing it needs is wide sizes.

If I can answer on Seth's behalf. That's going to depend on your preference. Both do the job very well. I'd pick both up and test them.

Ive used both for daily purposes, and the Mach 4 is much better.The endorphins are lighter and offer better impact dampening due to the pebax foam but is much firmer feeling and doesn’t feel great at non-fast paces. The Mach feels much softer but firms up for speed sue to the dual density midsole and just feels comfortable for all runs.

If the lockdown isn’t as strong as the V2, it might be a better option for those prone to Achilles and PF. Personally find the speed and pro restrict a Achilles movement a bit.

Hey Seth. Since we are on the topic of carbon plated racers, did Atreyu send you an updated version of the Artist? I received mine the other day, and it seems more responsive and the plate seems a bit firmer than when you did the initial review of the Artist. I read Atreyu’s response to your video, and they said they were updating the durometer of the midsole, as yours was still a prototype. Any updates on that? Because I think you could add the Artist to this list as well.

I've got 270mi on my 1st pair (PRed a marathon and an 8mi race in them this year), and have two more pair new in the box that I got for cheap. Also some Speeds. I'll easily get 400+ miles out of these shoes- which is outstanding for a race shoe.

@@moreybrown870 Totally! My first pair of Speed went 400 miles. Went flat around 360 and didn’t have that responsiveness anymore. My other pair is going strong roughly 50 miles. Gotta love the endorphin lineup! No need to buy the second or plus model.

Durability depends on so many things. I've seen heavier people get more miles out of shoes than lighter. I'm 61Kg and have 270mi on my Endorphin Pro's, and they easily have another 100+ miles left in them. Tread is barely worn. But really- 400mi for a pair of race shoes is outstanding.
