Saudi Arabia Travel - One Day in Riyadh 🇸🇦 المملكة العربية السعودية مدينة الرياض السفر سياحة أجنبي

Saudi Arabia has long been off limits to foreign tourists and travelers. Since a few months, however, it’s possible to visit the country on a tourist visa. I made use of this opportunity and traveled to Saudi Arabia for 2 weeks, including Riyadh, the Edge of the World, Jeddah, Medina, Al Ula, Umluj, and the Red Sea coast.
In this video I travel to Riyadh, the capital city in the center of the country. After visiting a mosque for Friday prayer and eating lunch with the locals, I tour to modern shopping malls, museums, traditional bazaars, a construction site with migrant workers, the famous Sky Bridge Kingdom Tower, and finally the Riyadh Season Festival, designed to promote tourism and culture. While I spent almost 3 days in Riyadh, I comprised the video to make it into one single day.

Saudi Arabia is mostly known in the ‘Western world’ for its petroleum export, the birthplace of Islam, and unfortunately also poor human rights record. But as I discover there is much more to this massive country than first meets the eye. In these series I hope to give a glimpse into what was once an almost ‘forbidden place’ for independent travelers, and is now open for visitors from around the world.

Thank you for taking me on a tour of my favorite city in the WORLD and showing me some of the places that I did not visit during my seven months in this fantastic city. I was there in 2008-9 and I am glad that things do not seem to have changed that drastically. What I saw in this beautiful video still reminded me of the wonderful city that I loved so much when I was there. I wish that you had shown us TAHLIA street which, to me, is the most wonderful street in the world and to which I refer as the Champs Elysees of Riyadh. This is the city where I spent the most beautiful, peaceful, and blissful seven months of my life and it is the city that will forever stay in my heart as my BELOVED Riyadh. Thank you for bringing back some of those pleasant memories.

This video is just beautiful,, nothing like when I lived there which I loved very min of.. we had Chicken Street, and the Big Suq and many other places.. I lived there in the late 70s my two children went to the Internation Schools ( which was great for them as they met alot of kids from other countries).. it was an enjoyable time for myself and my family, my husband was a civil engineer who worked on several projects.. Thankyou for posting this video it brought back many many memories.

Yes! I lived there in early-mid eighties & went to International School. I was there grades 1-4 and had friends from England, India, Pakistan, Korea, etc. Got to travel all over too! So very grateful
