One detail that people tend to miss about this show is that for all his smarts, Walter is a terrible criminal, with some of the worst business sense in the franchise. He can’t organize people, he can’t plan ahead, he can’t run a business. His plan to provide after his death was literally to give Jesse, junky, random amounts of Meth and hope he comes back with cash. Even Skylar was a better criminal. When Jesse said that Walter was “luckier than you” he meant it. Walter fell upwards over and over again but by sheer dumb luck got bailed out of his obvious mistakes.

Even when given an easy way to do so he refused. Guy was a garbage criminal who only got away due to everyone else doing the hard work and luck. While Skylar wouldn’t have been caught. She only ever got into trouble because everyone else kept fucking yo and dragging her into things. Skylar was a great criminal. Her money laundering operation worked. The time she committed fair against that car wash owner worked and she left only a small risk. The only reason why Tim didn’t work is because Tim was an idiot like Walter, who didn’t realize the risk that he was taking

Why didn’t Mike just offload their stuff to Declan? He could’ve potentially kept Gus out of harms way and kept the Suoerlab safe under the guidance of Gale who was far more disciplined. If he tthought Walt was high risk, he could’ve used Saul as an intermediary whilst making high profit margins at an arms length with little to no blowback or liability if /when Walt and Jesse went haywire.

Excellent point, but the way I see it, Mike may be Gus’s advisor and guard, but he’s not his babysitter. If Gus deems direct contact with Walt to be necessary, then so be it. Also, Mike saw Walt and Jesse as amateurs and it was only after S3 when he realized just how dangerous they truly were. Basically, in my view, this is a case where Mike severely underestimated just how much of a problem Walt and Jesse were going to be. I’m confident that if S5 Mike was in these shoes, he would handle the situation very differently. But still, a fantastic point and one that definitely got me thinking, so well done, this is just my thoughts.

I'd like to think that when he just said "I know a guy who knows a guy" he was being completely honest (Mike > Gus) but after thinking a bit more, decided to add one extra layer as a further step of separation from his Saul Goodman persona and his true self (Jimmy > Mike > Gus)

I don't think Saul's aware of what exactly Mike does outside of the work Mike does for him. Seems like he thinks Mike is on the fringes of Gus' operation rather than the inner circle.

I always felt Mike told Saul he knew a guy who knew a guy. No way he’d reveal Gus to Saul like that.

Saul makes a good Lawyer but I don't believe his motivation. He doesn't seem to want things that cost a lot so he doesn't seem to need much money. So him pushing for more and more seems out of character since he never really spends it unless hes on his next assignment. Pay off these people to distract this guy to steal this. Then use that money to pay off these guys to steal a car so he can win a case. makes no sense and I feel the show was thought of after the fact. We all wanted more, but El Camino just seemed like a waste too. I didn't need to see what Jessie did after, it fell in line with what I already assumed would happen. I prefer to find out about JR and Walts Wife. The things we don't know. But saul just seemed like a two bit character not one to make a show around. Does saul come before breaking bad? Says its both a prequel and a sequel but you can't exactly have that? Walter and Jessie I guess show up in season 6? So how is it a sequel if season 6 is the last season? Unless Walter dies in the begining of season 6, then Breaking bad would have to come in between season 5-6. I dunno, I haven't watched season 6, it took too long so I wasn't interested in how it ended. But still...the ones I figure would be good to make a show around end up dying. So maybe we can get an origin to Nacho or something like Young Gus and his American Ambitions.

@@srikarvytla6727 no I mean he sounds like he’s speaking from experience when we says you can’t trust a junkie. What junkie betrayed him in his past. Would have been good to see in Better call Saul
