Personally, I believe ALL drug use should be legalized -- without exception! One place had a minimall where there were a few tacquerias and an ice cream shop near my house that hardly ever had customers, yet they were open 7 days a week. A few blocks down was a clothing store that didn't even have anywhere handy to park. Where i'm at in NJ there are all kinds of bars, restaurants, and similar places that do good business and are known to be or have been fronts. With a little common sense it's easy to get up and going.

Saul was very compelling. IRS investigators have given the show high marks for accuracy. A cash business where you can inflate the revenue with illegal funds, pay some taxes , and live your dream life. Walts problem was that he nade too much money to be able to launder with a single carwash. Gus Frings chain of restaurant was genius because it gave him dozens of locations to spread around the money plus a delivery system for his product

@ajdominguez10022 жыл бұрын
Plus, because Gus was running the operation for years, his chain made sense because it GRADUALLY GREW. If you own 500 million or so dollars, you're not going to buy 5 locations at once- the G men would know that you're making bank off the books.
@jessicaberry55962 жыл бұрын
@@seliamila1005 Disagree, Gus has just been doing this longer. Every time the two clashed, Walt always came out on top. Gus couldn't even kill Walt when he wanted to most because Gus always needed Walt.
@seigeengine2 жыл бұрын
@@seliamila1005 Nah. That's an empty supposition. Walt's entire motive was to get enough money to afford his cancer treatment and take care of his family, not to build a criminal empire to begin with, so it wouldn't have made sense for him to start with an intention to expand limitlessly. Neither would that gel with the speed of his growth, but laundering is only really a factor in the spending of money, because nobody is going to know if you have a giant pile of cash somewhere if you don't do anything with it.

I loved that line and the line where he says Walt has "perks of seniority" because he realizes that Walt is that rare combination of dangerously intelligent, completely unpredictable, and 100% the kind of guy you want to follow and not stand in the way of. Sure, 17% of $100k is nice but 5% of $100mil is even better, and with the added bonus of earning the loyalty of one of the most dangerous people around. Unlike all the other criminals Walt is neither as stupidly murderous as Tuco nor does he just randomly kill his own men like Gus, he's willing to take risks but only after ensuring that while he _appears_ to be taking a huge risk he's actually ensured he's planned against failure and stacked the deck in his favor.

The dialogue is what made this show so great. It always felt so real. Especially the way Walt was always able to twist and manipulate conversations and people to his will. It was so deliciously satisfying to watch how it would unfold. In so many scenes I got the feeling that had Walt not been there or had he said one thing a bit differently, that would’ve been the end for him and Jessie. It was this balancing act of tension that kept you on the edge of your seat. Same thing could be said for Saul. This show would not have been what it was if not for Bob Odinkirk. His stupidity is the exact reason that Walt keeps him as his partner….. he could never have an assistant/partner who has the potential to be smarter than him (Gale)…. even his marriage to Skyler!
