2 main takeaways from this: 1) The Roglic curse plaguing INEOS was lifted. Wonder what this means for this year's Tour. 2) Remco actually beat both Roglic and Vingegaard in the race. He might not be the top contender for world tour GC, but he's getting really up there.

@@jademermaidmusic true, it seems. However, it says something about bike racing when a race as hilly as Itzulia can have Remco beat Vingegaard and Roglic. More to bike racing than just being the top climber. However, it looks like he'll never be a top contender for Grand Tours, not with the talent going around these days.

Daniel Martinez for me has earned the right to be leader at the Tour this year for INEOS. I know his descending isn't fantastic and he isn't as good a time trialist as say Pogacar or Roglic (that being said, I still don't think he's that bad), but his performances so far this year in Paris-Nice and Basque County have been impressive. I'm sure they'll bring Yates too since he has shown he has the ability to hang with Pogacar at both previous UAE tours (even if he didn't challenge him to the limit, but I feel like Martinez should be the number one for INEOS.
@Fyr355552 жыл бұрын
yates is too inconsistent I think, optimally they would use him as an attacking card in the first two weeks to force the slovenians to chase but I have a feeling Pogacar will be so much stronger than Yates that it doesn't matter.

Martinez’s descending capabilities is what keeps him from the no1 spot. A sitting duck, tactically.

Today he was caught behind Mas, so it was not totally his fault, later with Remco he descended very well. He is not Pello or Lo Squalo, but he can keep a wheel just fine.Not fantastic but not terrible either.

Yup it’s as I thought Roglic not on top form (but still capable) so today he really should have ridden as super-domestique for Vingegaard who is on top form but lacked support. Had Roglic protected Vingegaard today as much as he could then Vingegaard could possibly have won the stage and certainly beaten Vlasov. Kuss sadly a disappointment in the whole tour knowing how good he is when riding well.

best stage race of year by a distance so far I think and neither of big names won. Roglic will be strong he always is but I think the fact that everyone really rode great, maybe yates will be disappointed, but vlasov, jonas, mas before crash, formolo and soler combo, Remco really showed some guts , and Izaguirre what can you say to crash and chase back through sea of orange cheering him on it was awesome. Dan has looked strong for a couple years I think he really obviously deserved win but also leadership in Tour.. Race always is great but this will be one of highlights of season I think lot of riders asserting themselves into leadership or co-leadership positions for tour or Giro. Great racing chapeau Ion....Bilbao as well looked great just amazing descent skills

we are all forgetting that vingegaard can win the tour de france too. If it goes late between pog and rogla then vingegaard can be used to attack pogacar and if he doesn't follow him vingegaard can take a lot of time and win the tour he is pretty solid time trialist too
Remco did so well sadly he worked to much for ala. Else he could have won it. Still amazing ride again from him

We got two of these for our daughters kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!

I wish these commentators would stop using the same old phrases over and over. “Infernal pace”, “infernal cadence”, “timed to perfection”, “dancing on the pedals” etc Some have been used since my days watching CH4 coverage in the 90s. Oh, and stating the obvious “He punches the air!” - almost all cyclist punch the blummin’ air! We can see it on our screens. It’s not radio so there’s no need to tell us or SHOUT AT US.
