Lyrics:
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

@Russell Shore I can see how you can say that... it wasn't a particularly complex song. It was Darren talking about his beliefs and Danielmadding some fun beats. It's more just an upbeat, positive sing added to the album but it no way reflects the depth of the band altogether. This album is truly amazing if you It's your style. "Gunning Down Romance" is one of my all time favorites.

Hate to be a downer but I think it's pretty unlikely. Unlike Darren (singer), Daniel (guitarist) never felt comfortable in the limelight and with the level of fame Savage Garden achieved - preferring the writing and producing side of music, and the pub scene which he'd know well prior to that. The main reason why they broke up was because what they each wanted lay at odds with one another and this became increasingly apparent, creating a divide between the two (although they respected one another both before and after the split). I can attest to the fact that the two were always very different people; although they worked well together the evidence (if you were a crazy fan like I was) became increasingly obvious and their split, when it came, wasn't that much of a surprise (though it still felt awful). And this from wikiepedia: Darren was once asked in an interview if he would ever consider reforming Savage Garden and he said, "No, never. I once said I'd only do it if it cured cancer, and that's still how I feel."

What a perfect piece of lyrics and wonderful melody. This is what I call a hit. "I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality" - how often do you hear that true and important message in a song...
@elessan5937
@elessan5937 9 жыл бұрын
***** Do you think gay people or straight ones for that matter know why they are attracted to a person of opposite or same sex? sure you can go around believing you're attracted to your girlfriend/lover/wife or any woman because she has nice face/eyes/hair/body/feet etc, the question here is why do you find this attractive. It's all a mix of hormones, electrical signals in your brain, enviroment and childhood. SO what he is singing, "I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality" is very true, and besides he is singing "I believe" which makes it his opinion and are you stating that he or other people are not entitled to their own opinions, because some researcher which probably can't see the difference between a goat and a whale (this is my opinion if you actually are stupid enough to waste decades looking for a gay gene) says they can't find something different in the genetic makeup of a gay man.

***** Ex Gay movement and are you one of them? I'm not Gay. I'm bisexual. I will never understand homophobic Groups that the agenda with life is to pull down other people to the ground. I also believe in God but not in any religion because God never made religions or any group for that matter. If each of us direct our lives into bringing down other people, there'd be no humility left in this planet. Instead of sharing love, People will plan on how to be more hurtful. I don't share your opinions with sexuality but i won't disrespect you. I know God loves me and everybody, I don't need anyone else's approval to validate that for me.

***** "Btw, love the song just that one part that is deceptive." It's not deceptive, because he precedes it with "I believe..." But aside that, most gays, well over 90%, will tell you homosexuality is not a choice. So it's really not up for straight people to argue that point. It's only proper to give benefit of the doubt to homosexuals. The burden or proof is on those who claim it is not a choice.
@island-life

***** All these beliefs you have, Where did it come from? dangerous way to live, sinful nature. It's wrong according to whom? From religious bibles? God never made bibles. A minority of overly controlling men from thousand of years ago wrote it and told the majority of uneducated men that it was God's words. God made humans and humans made material things. What other people do with their marriage life or intimate life have no internal or external effect with you whatsoever. So why direct your entire beliefs into thinking that what they will do with their relationships will hurt you? What will affect you is what you do, it ain't what will other people do. Oppression is never Good for anyone of us. Opinions are always fine but don't become an oppressor. I'm from the philippines, we have a wide catholic population and i grew up going to church. I've always had crushes towards boys and girls. I tried to hide it because i know my parents and my family won't agree. I became lonely and hateful. I became a Bully. Three to Four years ago, I realised i should just love God and love Me. My spiritual belief is not church related or book related. It is a personal relation. I realised those Men with skin and Blood preaching over the church were never The God i admire. It was just Men. Men who eats rice and corn, who drinks wine and milk,who washes their asses when they are finished pooping. They were just ordinary humans. It is not a sin to have different beliefs but it is a sin if you start believing that these ordinary humans are speaking and acting on behalf of GOD.

LMFAO Not a millionaire by far and I DISAGREE! Anyone who disagree is a LAZY AF ASSHOLE And lazy doesn't mean you fail to hold down a job. It means you fail to save a dime and every d'mn something comes up in your life you need rescuing by someone else! Too weak-minded to think ahead. Sure, some people's struggle is worse than others, but many just plain fail at basic financial skills. The real weakness is an education system that fails to prepare its children for the world around it. The system fails to properly explain almost everything the deal with finances and economics and then wonders why the people end up poor. Maybe because they're not taught how loans and credit cards work. Maybe because they're not shown how saving a little each month can become thousands over the years. And they're certainly not taught that having millions of dollars can still mean you're a miserable SOS! People argue that money can buy them happiness. It's temporary happiness! If you had a million dollars you could pay off your house, car, loans, and other bills, but that would all come back. People always want more and more and more. Until they learn to be happy with the little things they'll just drown themselves in "But I want that" instead "Look at the house I have! Lets paint the walls!".
