Proving it’s truly a small world, I live in the Chicago suburbs and randomly bumped into Jack at my local coffee shop this past weekend. He’s a really nice guy and a genuine car guy. I agree, watching Jorg put the car through its paces was fantastic. Equally fantastic were the flashes to him as he was driving like that, looking totally calm and relaxed…and smiling. You KNOW he was just having a great time. As I watched the front facing camera, and listened to the engine revs, you could hear him perfectly timing the power application and control to induce and maintain those drifts.

I'm sure it's great and it looks like a lot of fun but there's something sad about the analog tachometer delete, the twist 🔑 delete (even tho i know it's fake in the 992.1) and the intro of the 1st hybrid. Hoping this isn't the beginning of the end for the 911 😢. Lot of things may seem "better" on paper from an engineering standpoint but the 911 has always been about a lot more than that.

The refresh rate of the speedo kills me. It's inappropriately slow, so much so that even accelerating in the triple digits you can see it jumping whole tens place values in the time it takes to refresh

I’ve seen about a dozen videos by different channels, influencers and car content vloggers, etc. - all at the same Porsche-hosted launch at Ascari in Andalusia. This is by far the best. All boxes ticked: technical details, driving impressions, great European roads, glee and laughter and seeing a trained pro taking a hot lap. Thank you for infusing this half hour video with such humanity (as compared to the car which dismays me as soulless speed appliance).

Can I just say how much I appreciated the takeoff acceleration graph! One of these new responsive engines with the option of a much lower power output would be cool. Fpr example, if you are on a normal back road and want to have some fun make it produce 300 hp and then all the power on the highway. As Mark said, this is just too much for the street (which I know isn't a new "problem" with modern cars). I've driven a 992 Turbo once and every but the Autobahn/track you are immediately at license loosing spped if you even think of using the throttle. For sporty driving on the wrekend every GTI, GT86 whatever is more interesting because you can actually use all of the car.
