ZR2 starts at 48K with some incentives I've seen them as low as 45K. Trailboss arguably as much as most people need and those nicely optioned are 40K. Just a few years ago the F150 raptor MSRP was what, 72K? So for 10K less you get a way smaller truck. And I love small trucks. This is just a knock against the massive inflation on vehicle prices. I work in the industry and our wages certainly didnt increase 50% and neither did the cost of materials. It's a total farce how expensive shit has gotten. I saw many cars and trucks, same platform, have massive bumps. When you design and build a vehicle everything is ammoritized. The cost is going to be the same throughout the life of the product launch, if not get cheaper due to increased volume if the product line is successful.

I don't get complaining about the price of a company's halo product. The whole point of selling you this is increased margins. This vehicle exists to convince you of Ford's acumen in the "truck game" and then by extension that their products are worth more. There are plenty of ways a person can get around. But "Image" and the "Image buyer" is what the industry hinges upon, especially post WWII. Once you see this fact and fully absorb its significance, you can't unsee it. Quality, longevity, practicality, maintainability, affordability, efficiency, and value are ALL second-place to "Image". I like these, but $60K is wild. I get that the price of cars are never going to go down and between the companies and stealerships they’re going to goosestep over consumers because they can, but that doesn’t make the situation-where they could still be offering this and other offerings for $30K still and be making profits but prefer the new Greedflation model-right, morally or financially.

What's sad is it's the same drivetrain as the Bronco Raptor and that's 80-90k. Makes the Ranger a steal and probably why so many Bronco Raptor are sitting on lots.

$30k is probably how much it would cost you to build your own Raptor...lol $55k msrp is probably a pretty fair price for a truck that can tackle Baja and rally courses from the showroom floor.

Most of the criticism I see here hinges on the fact that people can’t afford the vehicle. No technical criticism, no adult comments. This is in keeping with the current trend of school playground comments. And then there is the question of identity politics.
@startrekmike23 күн бұрын
While you are absolutely correct that I can't justify spending that kind of money on a vehicle that fills no practical function in my life (at least not with any degree of financial responsibility), I don't really have any envy for those that can. If anything, I find this truck to be an expression of a much, much larger industry problem. During the video, the phrase "lifestyle focused pickup truck". This is an apt title since it is pretty obvious that this truck will largely be marketed to and purchased by people who want to be seen in one and even assign some part of their personal identity to owning one. They may not ever take it to the sand dunes, rock climbing, or any other serious off-road activity but they have been led to believe that just having that capability will make them seem more adventurous and more fun to others around them. This is obviously not exclusive to this truck. People will line up around a building to buy their yearly iPhone model just so they can feel like they are part of some enthusiast group. People will buy expensive handbags and designer clothing just so they can be judged a certain way by others. It isn't great. It isn't really good for culture but it is what it is.

why for the love of god do reviewers forget the Frontier Pro-4x exists.. that's ALSO a v6. yes.. someone in the market for a Raptor would not buy it.. but it IS a capable midsize with a v6.. so no.. this is not the "only v6 available"

If ford could valve the shocks to ride like the F150 and add ventilated seats it would be the perfect midsize truck. That and offer a larger bed.
@JollyGiant1924 күн бұрын
A larger bed wouldn’t make sense in the raptor trim. It’s made for off-road before on-road practicality.

Some alloys develop surface rust but don't rust through. Usually high strength high carbon steel. It's a drive shaft, not a body panel or frame element.
