I live in Savannah. Two big things you missed are City Market and River & Bay Streets. City Market has a lot of shops and restaurants. River street is right on the Savannah River and it has TONS of shops and restaurants. You can also take ferries across the river. Bay Street is just above that and has nice restaurants. There is also Broughton Street, which is where Leopold’s Ice Cream is. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants.

The East Coast has some great colonial neighborhoods. Jones Street architecture can be in Philadelphia or Baltimore and would fit in.

Welcome! 😊 I've lived near downtown, and what we call the Southside, which seems more suburban, but is still within the city limits, and both are perfectly good for families. There are other towns nearby, including Pooler, that are definitely the 'burbs, with lots of newer homes. It all depends on what you and your family are looking for. If you have any specific questions I'll happily answer them.

Be advised that the bench never existed. It was a prop only. Savannah has zero benches in the squares facing the street. The traffic goes clockwise and for a bench to work the traffic must go counterclockwise or two way. Another pro tip is that you can also get ice cream outside security at the airport. There's never a line there. SCAD isn't the only reason Savannah is youthful, but also a contributing factor is the four military bases within an hour of Savannah. Ft Stewart, Parris island, NAS Beaufort, and Hunter AAF which is actually in the middle of Southside Savannah. You didn't mention the name of that street. It's Jones and it's considered the prettiest street in America. But here are other street you should see. Washington, 37th, Victory, and Abercorn between Victory and DeRanne.

Savannah is a place for peace serenity living its not set up to have the characteristics like big cities its laid out totally different the streets are laid out different than how larger cities are when I was a kid mayor John Rousakis and the county commission never wanted big companies that tried to locate here he said it would bring people from all walks of life to our city and it would never be the same 1970 quote

Planning to in Savannah, what hotel did you stayed?

Hi there! We actually camped at Skidway Island State Park on this trip, but in the past we’ve stayed at the Hyatt downtown. Hope this helps and enjoy savannah! ☺️

Nicely done but AHEM, one of the oldest Savannah sayings, "You've not been to Savannah until you've been to Bonaventure." Next time!

we were in Savannah for 3 days last week.... no where to park!!! We ended up taking the tourist bus get on get off trip... about $30. Weird. If you do get off... it is hard to get a seat to get back on... especially later in the day.. As Elks we stayed overnight at the Elks Lodge... few (one) camoground close to the city. Agree it is a beautiful city.... lots of parks as they described... but they are all close together.... you got to be in good shape to see everything. River Walk nice, but again VERY LITTLE parking.

Parking can get a little tricky in Savannah for sure!

It's actually Stratton Leopold who owns Leopold's and is a Paramount executive, I believe Peter was his father, one of the original founders ;)

The pipes remind me of Galitskogo Park in Krasnodar Russia. Savannah has been on my list for a while We need to get over there. Too bad our German Shepard is not as nice as your dog we cant walk her around in public perfect for protection though :) great video just found your channel

“And they have a new door!” 😂 Dead. Also, a coffee shop that roasts their own coffee is always a winner in our book! Also, was that shot in your intro from Tower or Terror at Disney? We LOVE Disney!

Totally agree, the best coffee shops roast their own coffee! Yes, great eye it was tower of terror, we went last January!! So fun!

Southeast Georgia!!!! Growing up here makes you a very unique individual that no one else is like...we have our own culture and way of life...accept no substitutes. There is no way I could explain Southeast Georgia to you that wouldn't take days or weeks I mean it can't be done in 15-20 minutes or even hours talking about a long long time to even give you the basics and even then don't think you'd understand.You ain't coming here and telling us "that's not how we did that where I came from" We'd tell you to turn around and get the hell out. And when I was a kid it might have been accompanied by shotguns. But as long as you mind your manners you ain't gonna have a problem as long as you're in the motel room by dark. If you ain't from around here you don't want to be driving at night with out of state plates trust me unless you're like on I-95 or something you don't want to be in rural Georgia driving at night out of state plates I guess we'll accept South Carolina Alabama North Carolina maybe Florida now Florida would be no no Florida would not be accepted...you are automatically a drug dealer.

Tip from a Savannah girl. Get dress weights for the hem of your dress, I can't tell you how many times my dress has blown up. Lol
@saratemp7903 жыл бұрын
I just wear a black stretch mini skirt under those dresses. Like as a slip.

Is savannah a good place to raise a family?
@chrisandsara3 жыл бұрын
We're probably not the best people to ask that question, plus location for raising a family is very subjective so it may be great for your family or may not! We really enjoyed the city, but we've never lived there so it's tough to say!

I was going to suggest that too! Flashed some people walking into work years ago and that’s all it took! Plus they help hold my stomach in since having my girls! Love your blog! You guys make me want to travel more!
