Thanks for bringing us along. It beggars belief the lovely lady can make a profit on that food, with such cheap pricing. That said I guess it needs to be so cheap to be affordable to the locals. Much respect to her.
@stanleyandjenlyncrum75822 ай бұрын
You are spot on. The profit margins are low. There are hundreds of places just like this one in Lipa. Thanks for watching the video 🙂

Here in Thailand are the prices often a little higher, a very local lunch cost between 1,30 - 2.10 $(probably cheaper in very rural areas) but the standard is A LOT higher and cleanliness too as Thailand is a "higher middle income country " But yea the saying is : " Live like a westerner - pay like a westerner "and applies to all se-asia. Seen so many expats over the years really living western style life and eating only western food and never try to adapt or even to learn language or the culture. Often are they miserable and many give up after some time.

How hot or cold is the ocean there. Will it be warm like fla. Or cold like Japan. I'm figuring it would be cold but hopeful it's warmer.

In Boracay the water is cool. On the SE side of Batangas it feels warm, and cold on the South China Sea side. Thanks for watching the video 🙂

As long as the place is hygienic it's all good, i saw you slapping some flies, you can expect that if it an open space, less than $4 for both of you all, not bad at all!!
@stanleyandjenlyncrum75822 ай бұрын
There are always a few flies. That is why Jen insists that any place we go keep their food covered. Thanks!🙂

I know that you can drive there on a US license but when it comes time to renew how do you renew your license there and to ride one of the scooters there do you need a motorcycle endorsement on your license?
@stanleyandjenlyncrum75822 ай бұрын
I let my USA license expire since I plan on living here permanently. You will need a motorcycle endorsement here also but can get it here as well. Thank you!

What a great foody video Jenlyn & Stanley! What I've noteist about the food service sector in the Philippines! At the time of customer payment, theirs NO REQUEST for tipping! Here In North America nowadays at service food & drink places, theirs a request for 3- types of tip, 10% / 15% / 20% or No tip, for the service provided, it's your choice. Payment to be made at the time of your credit / debit card payment. Sometimes some service places request a tip before your choice of food or beverage has been provided! The request for a tip at the POS (Point Of Sale) is to make the customer feel obligated to pay the service tip, while the server is standing & watching what type of tip you choose! If the service was poor why would you be requested to pay the server a tip!
@stanleyandjenlyncrum75822 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing. Tipping is just not part of the custom here. It was hard to get used to at first but I don't even think about it anymore. We appreciate you watching 🙂
@gmm55502 ай бұрын
American tipping culture is unique in the western world and seems to be nothing else but a way to pay the workers salary because american workers have almost no rights and the company's can treat them how they want incl paying them a salary that is unlivable without a hefty tip from customers. In rest of the whole world u pay tip only for good service or extra good food. Funny enough is prices without tax included pretty strange to most county's in the whole world that present prices with tax included and not after when u pay as a unwelcome surprise.
@Matthew-gz4oh2 ай бұрын
That was fun and a great price. Expats really gain the weight over there as the food overall is very unhealthy unfortunately. they use the ceapest seed oils for cooking as Olive oil is very high.

One of the things I love about the Philippines is the wide choice of food options. From 7-11, to mall food to resorts to small mom and pops and everything in between. I love the chains and the local foods too. Yes the”street food” in Thailand is better and more abundant but otherwise Philippines has much more variety in my opinion.

haha u do know that Thailand is the food country no 1 an all asia and many tourists go to thailand ONLY to eat all the different food all over Thailand. and Philippines is regarded as a ... well..not so fun food country and where the food often is very "americanized "aka processed fast food or extremely full of sugar and have pretty low standard hygiene
