I know you run an honest full service shop but I feel like your trouble shooting skills are waisted on exhaust work. Then again I also feel like your trouble shooting skills are waisted on cars. As a Saturday night mechanic I’ve made that repair with split flanges ... no welding and those hold on for a few years.

I couldn't understand why you were spending so much time with aligning the new flange to the old since both sides were going to be replaced. Then I realized you were doing it to keep the factory position so if the pipe in front of the Cat was changed it would still fit without modifying it. Smart!

As a welding inspector at the plant I work at, I can say with certainty that if you submitted a welding coupon to me I would have no issues with it. Let's face it Eric, you have stated you have no training in car repair either but that doesn't seem to affect your ability to satisfy a customer. As far as facing a fine for not replacing a catalytic convertor with a C.A.R.B (the fine folks at the California Air Resources Board) certified unit, I know you would never do that at all. I know your letters on your New York State Inspection sign is the right color as well. Just think of the satisfaction you have for your contributions to the greater good. GREAT VIDEO!
