I just shared this video to the Davinci Resolve Beginners group on FB. Hope you don’t mind John, but someone was struggling with multi cam. I found this so useful I thought I’d spread the love.

Mind? Why would I mind? I think what you did is AWESOME, and I 100% appreciate it! That's why I make these videos - so others can have a handle on this stuff like I do! Thanks again!

Thanks bro, just bought a new motorcycle and started MotoVlogin. It's quite a change between doing just "outdoor" vlogs and actually doing MotoVlogs. This was really helpful.

Welcome to the club! Glad I could help :D If you're interested, I have a new video on this channel about how I process my motovlog audio [the motovlogs are over on my @roadreality channel]

I watched your previous version of this video a few days ago and now use this method instead of the sync bin, so than kyou for some really useful information. The only extra step I have to do it to make the audio tracks from my three cameras into a compound clip before converting the timeline to a multicam clip, as my wife has one of the cameras on her bike, and I like to hear the audio from both at the same time to avoid jarring jumps in the sound.

I'm glad to help - and that's a very interesting situation with the multiple audio tracks. That's a great solution you came up with!

This was great! I have a similar workflow in Premiere Pro. I like your way of putting multiple "scenes" in one multicam sequence. It seems cleaner than my way of having each "scene" in it's own multicam sequence. Your way seems quicker and cleaner. Question... Do you cut the fluff from your sequence before you worry about changing up the angles?
@CreatorReality13 ай бұрын
Thanks! I don't usually do 2 passes - I'll switch camera angles while I edit, and use the multiple angles to hide the jump cuts.

Thanks. THink I'm gonna try this in my video.

Awesome! Let me know how it goes :)

@@CreatorReality1 It went not as planned. There was a difference in recording framerate (30 and 29.970) so Davinci wouldn't sync on audio. But now I know where to pay attention to when doing it again.
@CreatorReality15 ай бұрын
@@JoepMeijer Hmm, interesting. Resolve should be able to match the frame rates - but at least you can manually sync the clips, right?
@JoepMeijer5 ай бұрын
@@CreatorReality1 I managed to maually sync. But I'm gonna give it another try with other footage. And import them one by one in Davinci and see what that's gonna bring.
@CreatorReality15 ай бұрын
@@JoepMeijer Good luck! When I drag a bunch of footage into Resolve, if the framerate is different than my default Timeline settings, it asks me if I want to change the Timeline. Granted, I'm usually syncing up multiple GoPro cameras, so the framerates are all the same. I manually sync other cameras together. I might have to run a test combining mirrorless and GoPro cameras this weekend!

Thanks! After having done it several hundred times, it's mostly muscle memory. By following the steps laid out in the video and doing it a few times, it should be easy for you, too! :D

@CreatorReality1 I did it with one clip it was perfect. Multiple clips I'm lost. Thank you anyway
@CreatorReality14 ай бұрын
@@bushmastercrew You might have selected the wrong clips by accident - it happens more than I'd like to admit. Make sure that only the clips you're trying to sync are selected, so you move them as a group. Alternatively, you can create Compound Clips out of the segmented files [if you used a GoPro, for instance, and in 1 recording it created 3 files], and then sync THAT with another camera. See here for how to work with Compound Clips: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH_Tp2ahd9B2nKs

Looks SO much easier than the way I do it in FC. Not to say that FC doesn’t have an easier way, I just don’t know it. So I break the clip and disable/enable the clips on top of each other. Very time consuming.
@CreatorReality16 ай бұрын
Yep, you CAN do that, and I know people who do that in Resolve, but I find it easier to use a multicam clip

Well, to be fair... I've done it hundreds of times, and refined the process for myself over the years - which is why I wanted to share it, so others can learn to do it easily too!
