I was curious how lead was mined in the old days and this video helped me learn. Thanks so much!

Watching all your videos, I live in Rochester. Been trying to find somebody with some decent knowledge in video form from around here and this is the best so far. Thank you! I’m a metal detector so this is all crucial info😂

Thanks very much for this very informative video on the old lead/zinc mines! If I am in the Platteville, WI area, I would love to visit the mine in town. Thanks again.

It’s a looong drive but the Soudan iron mine is a fascinating tour.

Awesome, thank you! I only throw in the mine / history videos occasionally, but I do have a few more planned. Plus we're digging our own tunnels at Sandland :-)

The mine under the museum was certainly a pleasant surprise! I spy a me!

We should visit more in that area! I hear there are a couple small-town museum mines that are much less OSHA-approved that this one :-D

Were you on the trip to the lead mine under the golf course with the antenna tower? Still the only trip I've ever done with ropes.

In your previous story, you accidentally identified the Badger Hut as another mine entrance, I am a guide at the Mathias Ham Huse, where this is located.

I don't think I've been to that house, is there a cave or mine over there?
@cindynielsen64352 жыл бұрын
@@saveitforpartssaveitforparts No cave or mine, just a replica mine and replica badger/miner's hut. The log cabin is the oldest in The State of Iowa, from 1833. It is shown in the first video.

That was cool theres alot of coal mines around my neck of the woods
@saveitforparts3 жыл бұрын
Coal mines are a bit outside my comfort zone... less stable rock and worse / more explosive air. I looked for some coal mines in Southern MN but I'd think twice about actually going in one, even with gas sensors.

Depends on the state/county, usually have to search around a bit. Most of the counties that have discovered computers have GIS websites (so about half of Wisconsin, lol)
@Cell1000bc3 жыл бұрын
@@saveitforparts okay I’ve seen a lot of GIS sites with satellite or aerial imagery but never lidar. Guess it’s an American thing. I’m canadaian.
