Please don't forget to like and subscribe for more. Videos every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
In this video we get our 100 acres of hay baled before the rain comes. Unfortunately the big square baler doesn't make an appearance this time but watch this space! The 3690 and McHale start the baling before switching to the 6499 and McHale. Uncle is rowing in the 3075 and the shaking out was done with the 6270. We also had out the 6290 and john deere round baler.
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching.

Cleaning out the kit better would be a big help, a bit of debris can work its way into the bearings or seals. Also having dry matter in and around things that get hot is a fire hazard.

@conor7187
@conor7187 3 жыл бұрын
@@paulbarrett6127 you mean a plastic cover, it's not a bearing. I'm well aware of PTOs, I work with them daily. And Ive dealt with broken ones too. Had a very similar thing happen me where I put the wrong shaft on a topper (too short) and it was wobbling all over the shop like it seems in this video. There shouldn't be any give in the PTOs internal shaft (I don't mean the plastic now 🙄) which is what it seems like in Phil's baler. Better to be safe than sorry and not to just presume that it's just the plastic cover
@FARMERPHIL3690

Father Phil has it checked out and it was the plastic bearing that the cover runs on was gone and is now fixed. PTO shafts are deadly dangerous.

What kind of speed does that baler handle ? We do lots fescue ,rye, wheat and clover so we use a ground driven 10 wheel rake and make windrows 4 ft wide and they hit the weight bar on the tractor in first cutting. We usually run 6 mph on the rough ground and 8 in the better places but most of the ground has gopher holes,hills ,rocks and all around rough ground. I sure would like to get thin blade grass like that it makes a great bale. Those are some great windrows your getting into in the 2nd field

Hello Farmer Phil, I am a new subscriber and I really enjoy watching your videos. I'm from the USA and come from a lifetime of agriculture as well. But I am curious though what part of Ireland are you from? My family line on my father's side is originally from Ireland in County Cork. The surname is Gunn but have no contact with anyone over there as I am unfortunately the only surviving member of my father's side.

When you are using a round baler when you are finished the field if there is still a bit of grass or straw or whatever your baling left in the bale chamber and you go to bale another crop then what do you do how do get rid of the stuff left in the baler or do you just make a bale that's half and half and get rid of the bale?
