I lived in Hyde Park. My family owned several buildings that we lived in and rented. We cared dearly for our neighborhood. I can tell you why it fell apart. Crime and no respect for properties rented. I know this first hand.

The white water tower located on N. Grand was built in 1871, not the 1700’s. Additionally, it was built to service a nearby water treatment plant. The pirate story is ridiculous.

You deserve so much praise for what you are trying to accomplish..you obviously care about the history of this neighborhood and the buildings..I wish you much luck and I hope you succeed..I had beautiful memories of my grandparents home on 2804 burd Avenue in St. Louis..I was praying it would still be standing..I did an address search on Google and got a view of the street and the spot it stood..it was gone just wiped off the face of the earth..all the memories of my childhood with my loving grandmother in that house..it hurt so bad..most of the homes were gone it didn't even look like the neighborhood at all..it looked like the country..so save as many places as you can..I would give anything to see the house one more time. My grandparents came over from Italy in the 1930s it was there first home and lived in it till my grandfather died and my grandmother went to live with her oldest son..their names were Bernardo and Angelina Nardi.

Hyde Park has some of the best preserved second empire Victorian homes 🏠 west of the Mississippi River. Great documentary on the historic neighborhood.

@bjcpc0337 Thanks for your comment. I agree, it's kind of a long shot; but you never know what Santa Claus is gonna bring. My thoughts are with the Alderman and the good people of Hyde Park. Rocky Balboa never gave up. . . I still believe that the good guys can win if they stay with it. The bad guys tend to just drift away. Thanks for looking at my movie. RC
