as a experienced Gibraltar league FM player. Sign english players. They will get Gibraltar nationality in 1 year and they are able to play for Gibraltar in 3 years if I remember correctly. Just not loan them outside the country.

I did mine with Lincoln red imps i won 20 league titles and 16 domestic cups my signing policy was ageing stars and English players. Somehow I managed to get kyle walker and some old players in .I returned to Gibraltar with Manchester 62 layand won the rock Cup but Manchester 62 went into admin so I resigned . There new manager was On £5 a week and won the GFL

@@ddoghusky2928 I have been doing a gibraltar save this year and run into a similar issue, the only way I managed to get youth facilities to their highest possible rating was by waiting until my reputation was a full 5 stars, not 4.5 stars.

Regarding the youth facilites, they are linked to a hidden attribute on the chairperson on the board. They have a "youth importance" attribute, and they won't even allow you to ask for youth facilities if that is low. So the only thing you can do is wait for a takeover and hope the new one has high youth importance, if they do, they will allow you to ask for it, at least.

hi, this is a late reply, but if your club starts with facilities that are not a mulitple of 2 (2,4,6,8 etc..) you will end up with a facility rating of 19, as each upgrade goes up by 2 the reason why the upgrade isnt available is due to it physically not being possible, the only fix is to wait for the facilities to drop slighty due to 'technological advancements', which happens over time, or use the editor to drop it by 1

For the first save, they'll need to leak to press to get youth facilities raised. I've run into hard caps in a few saves in FM24 where that is the only way to get em raised further. I'd recommend saving beforehand just in case it goes horribly wrong, but I have yet to be fired doing this.

For the Gibraltar save: Also sign better players for the rest of the league and loaning them out and selling them for cheap. Don't think of profits. Make the League stronger. The types of players: better than the league but not good enough to ever start for their national team. All of them have the potential to switch for Gibraltar and not taking up space in your team. Oh and: lots of lower league English players helps quite a bit.

For the last one: I did a build a nation save in the Faroe Islands so I understand the situation they are in. My tip is to trial literally every single player that was released by a club in the top 7 leagues at the end of each season. I would have upwards of 300 players on trial at some points but that took me from the worst club in the Faroese top flight to the Champions League without spending a single cent on transfer fees. Once you qualify you start getting essentially unlimited money so you can for the wonderkids, the main part is actually getting there in the first place. I signed players like Lewis Miley (who eventually started on my first UCL final with TB), Jarrell Quansah, Quim Junyent, Tim Iroegbunam and Martim Neto like this. At first, the big names will reject you, so you'll have to make do with the worse ones, but they are still great for you and will elevate your level so that next season you get better rejects, and so on in a positive feedback loop. For a period of 3-4 years I would basically find a new starting XI every season with all the rejects, but it was worth it - my first UCL final was only in my 13th season.

I have a Gibraltar save ongoing for 13 years with Magpies. I'm in the middle point of these 2 saves. I'm at a point that I can qualify for UCL but knocked out with 2 wins, or make to RO16/QF in EL or ECL. I somehow carried the country to 16th in coef table. This season 2 other teams made it to ECL first time ever, we can get second UCL spot soon. I have the money but I can't spend it, I have spent my first UCL money badly and now I'm stingy. I need to make better transfers but I got somehow bored. The key for national team is indeed English Players, they will get naturalized in 2 years opposed to 5 years for others. I missed the first job opening for NT but finally got it 1 season ago, most of the team is my current or previous players. We won Nations League C group and I'm optimistic about my first qualifications round.

I’ve got a pretty good tactic for signing players in lower leagues, I’ll usually tell my scouts to go for people who are affordable and at least 3 star with a potential of whatever else you want. Fill my squad with them and then have a recruitment focus for loanees from prem clubs or championship clubs then sign those as my start players. I find it really good because you always have a decent squad and then just need a few super high quality players to take you to the next level.

At least in '19 you could agree on a club philosophy with the board, typically when signing or renewing your contract with the team. For example "sign young players for the first team". This has an effect on what kind of requests you can make to the board, as well as contributing to your evaluation and job security depending on how well you fill those goals.

The best scouting method 100% is checking manually all interesting national teams and scout young players for their tier. For example, a 17 yo in the main Denmark national team, a 16 yo Brazilian in the under 23s, etc. This worked for me to get a Haaland level striker from Bulgary for under 1M€ when he was 15 yo

However I also signed one player per transfer window that might seem old, washed even. (Ben Arfa was my first, he stayed for 1.5 years and really elevated my club to the Allsvenskan). for the kids younger than 17 I definitley think you should scout lower than 1.5 yellow stars, especially if your scouts arn't world class. I've had plenty of players at 1 yellow star or less that ended up as great players for the club. Don't go lower than 4 grey stars tho.

Don't know for sure, but I think some of the youth rating stuff is hard-coded; if you tried to create a new country/league in the editor and you use an extinct/nonexistent country as a template, there are aspects of youth/player quality that you simply can't edit or adjust. I suspect there are elements you can't improve due to population size, location, etc.

The inability to find wonderkids has always been my problem due to I was always felt that the players I got from the scouting report arent good enough to make my starting lineup. Hence, it is why I decided not to sign as it will disrupt their development due to less playing time. Is this normal, or any advice i could get?

Same as the scouts won't recommend Mbappe because he is technically 3+ star player they also won't recommend awful players because they fit the criteria. It goes both ways so general advice for focuses is to drop stars below the level you are actually looking for.

To the 1st one: First of all, A Build A Nation is not about the national team but making the league the best. The national team is just a side-effect, but not the main goal. Edit: this is not to say that you can't do it, if you want, but the general definition of a BaN in FM, as it was told to me several times, is to build up the league. Just look at Second Yellow Card. Reasons: - international management is not really good in FM - the issues the player actually listed in their entry: hard to convince players to join (reputation of nation), if they get the nationality at all before they play internationals for their own country, etc. - youth ratings, game importance, etc. don't change really that much to improve youth intakes for the nation's clubs to create a real "golden generation"

I saw the title of this video and got flashbacks, my first and only save i am playing with swansea city and cant get out of the championship in my 5-6 years of playing i have good youth intake who both of my prospects have pretty much broken in to the first team, but now all of the big teams want them and i am having a tough time letting them go.
