Interesting to see something else as only removals. Very few people show pruning and even less people talk about tying to tops together… I didn’t even know that was done let alone that there was special synthetic stuff to do this. Thanks for showing something interesting and different 👍

Highly recommend putting an alpine butterfly fly above your base tie, if you are to hurt yourself, ground crew can hook a rope to it and lower you down. Keep safe and climb on 🤙
@br-dj2ti4 ай бұрын
Now when you put the Alpine butterfly above your base tie how would the ground crew lower you down by hand would they have to lower you manually by using their own strength correct thank you
@rex70204 ай бұрын
They can by hand or use the friction of a nearby tree or a porta wrap or similar
@michaelnassar16664 ай бұрын
@@br-dj2ti what Rex said, typically they’re trees near by. If not, play it safe and add the porta wrap.
@br-dj2ti4 ай бұрын
@@michaelnassar1666 so what you mean is Buddy they can click or tie a rope into the Alpine butterfly take a couple wraps around a tree or a porta wrap and then they would untie your base tie correct and then lower you down slowly is that alright thank you

@@br-dj2ti If the person on the ground is a climber they can even attach their rope and harness to the alpine. Take all the slack out of the line, disconnect the base anchor, and then use their friction hitch to descend the person down.

👍 My first few years of climbing/rigging/cutting was spent just getting comfortable with the basics. Now that I trust my gear and have built muscle memory moving through the trees and operating chainsaws I can open my brain up to more creative tactics. It's a process. I love to learn. Soon I'll be working with different tree services and climbers. Iron sharpens iron. This may seem minute to some, but I just had my first custom rigging sling built. I'm starting to see new possibilities.

I will use my big shot EVERY SINGLE TIME without shame. Huge time saver bc I can’t throw a throw ball if my life depended on it lol. I used my big shot to get a 25 ft line set. It looked ridiculous but I don’t care

Where i live when they cable a tree. They will take all the measurements and simply drill ahole thred the lag bolt with a washer through tighten it to specs and cut off any extra length and bobs your uncle. Now im sure there are many ways other ways of doing it and everything but its just how they do it out here.

I was reading about that. Interesting idea. I don't get hurricane winds or 70mph gusts in my area so I'm confident I could have gotten away with not using it.

Idk if you know this but if you use a knee ascender and put your flip line around the tree it like spike up the tree almost and save your arms and you dint really backup the bowline all you did was put a half hitch or something like that on the end of the line that’s not going do anything if it was to slip out I back it up with a double fisherman knot and I kinda think cable debatable of it really works or not I seen tree die after they got cable and over so just fine idk plus when there no more space for the tree idc what you do it going fail

You shouldn’t be spiking a tree for a prune. White pine like that it will cause a lot of damage

Buy a knee ascender and chest strap for your rrp you'll thank me later. Also whenever possible I climb to the top and switch over to DT with a friction saver. It's very easy when you're working fast to accidentally cut your rope going down to the base anchor or even just unnecessarily beat up your rope with limbs
