For pale people I recomend warm grey eyeshadow instead of bronzer. I don't contour my face, because I don't like contouring [but I tried it and it worked], but when I'm using a light warm grey on my eyes it looks almost like a neutral light/ transition brown on a more regular skintone.

For the person that said bronzer turns orange on their skin… You could also try a contour as your bronzer that is neutral. I don’t like the orange tones of a lot of browsers so I often put a contour down and if I want to warm it up at all I had a little blush to it or bronzer on top. There are so many tricks you can try! Robert gives the best advice, and I could listen to him all day!

Great video and advice Robert! Thanks for all the practical info on skin prep. I wait 10min between moisturizer, adding spf and then primer/foundation. Basically, I wait for everything to be absorbed, but I also touch up places I over applied (i love my moisturizer lol, it happens). I brush teeth, mascara, eyebrows and wash my beauty sponge while I wait for that time to pass. No time wasted! It took me sooo long to figure this out. Hope this is helpful to someone out there who struggled like I did for too long!😘

Thank you for doing this video.... I hope it does well! I remember in the 80's, the concealer from the brand Mary Kay was yellow. It was designed to wear under foundation, so it did a beautiful job of brightening the face. I have also stopped using dark bronzer, and if I need to contour (glam looks), I ue a powder that is just a few shades deeper than my skin. That way I get the "shadow" effect, but my skin doesn't look muddy!!🖤

A good trick for anyone who finds a regular 'bronzer' shade doesn't suit them - try a face powder just a couple of shades darker than your skintone. I really like the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder, it has a really nice finish and they have tons of shades so you should find something that will suit you. Also as its a face powder it's super easy to blend and a really foolproof way to bronze or contour!
@joybritton2284
@joybritton2284 Жыл бұрын
I need to try that as I happen to have some powder foundations that are too dark for me. Since they are foundations, they aren't so orange like bronzer can be. Great idea!
@DinkyInky2
@DinkyInky2 Жыл бұрын
I have issues with powder foundation(foundation in general really) turning super orange on me. It's like the industry forgot cool-toned olive complexions exist, as all my go-tos discontinued my shades. I have been on the hunt for new foundations since Shiseido launched SynchroSkin and permanently changed the shade range, which is sad when one used a shade for 30 years.
@aimeeduff8000
@aimeeduff8000 Жыл бұрын
@@DinkyInky2 I highly recommend trying the LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal Mixing Pigments, they’re like a colored foundation that comes in the shades white, orange, blue and yellow, and you can mix the blue and yellow together to make green and then mix with your foundations to help change the undertone. They don’t change the formula of whatever foundation you’re using and they seriously help soooo much! They’re a lifesaver for makeup artists or people who have a hard time finding their undertones in a foundation. You do have to kind of play around and experiment to find your perfect ratio but once you find it, it’s such a game changer! And honestly it’s kinda fun playing cosmetic chemist and mixing up new foundation shades and undertones lol! Hope this helps! 💕
@DinkyInky2
@DinkyInky2 Жыл бұрын
@Aimee Duff Does it work on cream/powder foundation? I rarely use liquid foundation because the shades aren't good on me/sits heavily in all the textured areas. Also, how do you turn it to a cool undertone?
@aimeeduff8000
@aimeeduff8000 Жыл бұрын
@@DinkyInky2 I believe they would work with a cream to powder, I haven’t tried it personally but you could scoop out a small bit of the cream foundation and then a use a little bit of those mixing pigments. I’m tying to remember if Rose and Ben on Instagram tried the mixing pigments with a cream to powder foundation, I think she may have tested it out, I know she used them with a ton of different foundations. (She is amazing by the way, if you don’t already follow her on Instagram) and I use the blue pigment alone to cool down/neutralize a too warm or too yellow/golden undertone myself because I’m a cool/pink undertone, so I think using a little more blue than you use of the yellow and mix those together with your foundation should work. The mixing pigments are worth their weight in gold, they’ve seriously saved me from wasting so many foundations that I would buy but then the undertone would be a bit off or the shade may have been too dark and I use the white mixing pigment to lighten them. There’s a little trial and error til you kinda figure out your own perfect “formula” to help perfect your foundation shades but they’re seriously a lifesaver and a money saver! They’re about $8-$10 a bottle depending on where you get them, one of my local CVS has them in stock and some Ulta stores have them in stock and the Ulta app/online has them and then the LA Girl website, let me see if I can get you a link if it will post here for you!

I have fair skin and I used a lightweight warm toned concealer to correct my redness because green ones were always so green I’d end up using more product to cover the green UNTIL I found one that was a VERY light minty green, almost white. It works PERFECT to hide my redness. It’s so perfect for me I can actually use it on days I don’t want to wear makeup and can just apply it to the red areas to reduce the redness in my face but it blends in so well that I don’t need to apply anything to cover it up after. If I use a warm toned concealer like I used to, I still had to go over it with a matching foundation or skin tint to even out my skin tone if that makes sense. But since I found the light minty green almost white corrector, I’ve been super happy! It comes in a stick so I thought it would be dry on me, but it isn’t drying at all and it lasts a long time too since it only takes a little amount!

I just had to comment and say a huge THANK YOU. I've learned so much when it comes to makeup from you. especially eyeshadow. I'm not a pro by any means. I went about 10 years of not caring at all about makeup. but over the last year and a half I wanted to start trying again. I remember the first time I tried the "updated" way of doing makeup, it was an absolute fail. so I didn't try again for a long time. then I found your channel. I listened to your tips and started implementing them in my own makeup routine when I felt comfortable to try again. I can now say that I can actually do a bold, sparkly, icy purple look that I LOVE and just keep going back to thanks to you. I feel more confident now to the point where people in a Facebook group asked to get an eyeshadow tutorial from me! someone that's still not 100% comfortable with makeup. so thank you. seriously. I also have a ghost story I've been thinking of sending in....just have to type it up and send it! hahaha. I hear the subscriber with the orange bronzer. It’s like a lot of companies think because the sun is yellow, orange, and red, we want to have orange to highlight/bronze our face. No. It looks weird. I switched to cool toned bronzers. Even neutral bronzers are better than warm toned. Depending on the formula you’re looking for can determine what brand you go with. Natasha Denona has an ok powder. I prefer Shiseido’s. Danessa Myricks has a cream but I prefer Uoma Beauty’s cream. I like indie brands so I use Lethal Cosmetics. The pigmentation on all their products is serious business, but I think all of their face products are powder.
