I finally got scrap mechanic and played it until 2:00 A.M and I need to expand my farm and learn how to make a better car because mine just flips Also I have a few suggestions, what if you lure a boss into the starting Shipp so he can't hit you (kinda useless) and what if.. You make a Lot of toilets can climb up a warehouse, Mabie use the key and then once your at the top go down a floor and claim your loot Thanks for reading :)

@Chelsea Brown Blatchford I haven’t seen any evidence of a second mechanics station on any other channels, but that’s not 100% proof, so there could be. However, in response to the comment about him not leaving the mechanic station, it’s actually a great base. You can only be attacked on two sides, since the walls of the station are indestructible, and it’s just a naturally generating incredibly large structure, so it’s actually probably the best spot for a base that you could find

If you're worried about your back piston on the crusher, you could just build a long back-facing pole with a counterweight on the end to even it out.

If the wire is on a separate power source to the rest of the bot or has a low current/difference, it won't matter since all the water does is conduct the electricity, same as a normal wire (but with way more resistance). This also happens with air, which is what a spark is, air conducting electricity.

Maybe you could connect in some way the top part of the structure of the drills, it'll be probably less floppy Also I think the back piston of your crushing defense structure shouldn't be max length, cause it's already in a higher position

If all the pistons are extending the same amount, it will be fine. The glitchiness is coming from all the weight on the front pulling the piston.

@7:00 approx, you have enough room under the shooting floor to setup a rail system that the saw blades ride on. You would setup sensors on the outside to detect the bots, and when detected, the sawblade would push out and slice around in some strafing pattern then retract. What this would do is allow the bots to get up-to the wall, then blades come out and shove them back.... If you set this up in a repeating pattern, it could be epic :-D Also, if you build a piston rail of some sort, you could use a lot less blades that would cover more areas depending on what sensors are activated...

We reduced weight on our crusher build couple of days ago and it still works like a charm. Used punched metal as well to make it more "snappy". Also we had to add a strongest block railing so they dont get accidently onto the platform. With the press of a button the crushers move up and down automatically.

Bots stay back from drills and saws regardless if they are on or off. (At least for now) Sometimes they can get through, but they'll be crushed before then. Perhaps put 1 or 2blocks on the corners of the concrete to keep it from sagging onto the ground, but not too many that it won't crush. That may help with the piston in the back (or put a counterweight up top) until you do it around the whole farm. Love this idea, I'll have to do something like that maybe,

When u enter the area through the main entrance, there's a (kinda) hidden passage way that splits in two ways, which go around that little mountain. On top of it there's a birchand an oak tree. J0hnbane also uses it for his farm.

Explanation of bot damage: Each bot has a few types of attacks. Each attack has a certain radius of damage and a list of probabilities of damage per material quality. For example the strongest material listed can be destroyed by the farmbot with 0.01 chance (1%).

It's also useful to put a resource collector on the crusher to pick up the legs and help with cleanup after.

A lightweight railing around the edge of the crushing platform might prevent you from accidentally scooping one of those dudes up, if you did he'd fall into your crops. Loving the series, I played all day today, I made a suspension glitch steering tank with a mountable spud gun and level 3 metal, I'll see if it works in a raid tomorrow. xD

great vid as always, you can try a counterweight for that back piston or a fourth position in the front. Also, sensors in the concrete to detect the farm bots and make an auto crusher so you don't have to be in your seat.

Add guide rails to the blocks at the top of the piston for the whole extension. That way the way the back piston keeps sagging forward with the weight will be mitigated. Also just add more concrete at the back so the weight is balanced.

I use wire fencing for my crushing machine, it works flawlessly. Materials don't matter, it's the crushing itself that damages. So 1 metal for 10 wire fence block is far more easily replaced.

So from what I remember using traps that crush you and saws separately are not as effective against big reds and tape bots as let’s say spudling gun but I don’t know about using both to kill a big red. Also you can use pumps to automate harvesting/planting the only thing you would need to do I press a button when all the crops are fully grown

Love the crusher. I put sawblades around my farm on pistons to move back and forth, so one saw blade covers a whole wall (with fixed blades in the corners). But, I did not use a motor. Instead I used the controller. It does not spin them fast, but the hay bots don't seem to care. If the blade is moving at all, they back off. Since they won't run into the blade, it doesn't matter if it can do much damage (and spinning slow from the controller I still take damage if I walk into them). Saves power, and I can just leave the thing running all the time (useful since one of the sensors for my piston control keeps needing to be reset every time I turn the thing on). Going to try adding a crusher, next. I'm curious how to handle tape bots if doing it from a seat, and I've seen in other videos that you need your seat up front, because the bots will congregate where you are, so that draws them to the front. I'm only defending 40 plots at the moment, so don't know if that's enough even with T3 crops to summon a farm bot.

The bots could potentially climb on top of your crusher if they have a staggered approach. Then you're giving them a free lift inside. You might want some wooden pillars or something on the edge of the crusher plate.

You can remove blocks of concrete from the platform to create a pattern with holes in order to make it half the original weight.

Protips: You can automate chemical harvesting with a switch attached to a vacuum pump feeding into a large chest. Also instead of bringing several resource collectors out with your harvester and bringing them back to your refinery, just bring the refinery with you and you'll be able to process the mats on the go and only have to return to base when all your chests are full.

No, the piston does not work like that. It has no collision and is forever attached to that wood block until you break it. It's just glitching out because of all the weight.

Hi Scrapman, great vids. FYI you do not need to power the saw blades, the antenna and farm bots just stop even when they are unpowered. I also have a pair under the front of my car, bots stop and kindly wait till I prepare and get off to fight. :)

The boss can use his blade to cut through. Although you need to consider the factor of his projectile weapon. The crusher acts as a roof making it impossible to fire towards an enemy.

@18:35 approx, I think that instead of 1 piston on the back, you might need 2 or more to compensate for the front weight... Of course, if you complete that crushing ring all the way around the base, it might balance out the weight a bit, but I still think a balance of 2 on one side with one on the rear is always going to cause unbalance.
