It's a nice touch that there's a focus on the traps being winnable in this since Jigsaw always wanted to make sure there was a way out of his. The plot points in movies past 3 were that Jigsaw's successor's were focused on making their traps unwinnable, which strictly goes against how Jigsaw designed his.

Firstly, congratulations on the baby!! That’s super awesome for you two. I’m glad you also had a positive view of this. I gave it an 8/10 after watching, seeing as it actually focused on being a movie, not just another gore porn hard rock thing edited like a music video. But yeah, like you mentioned, everything came together a bit too conveniently, but I guess John is just that smart at reading people! Also, did you hear that the Editor of this movie had the police called on their house because the neighbors heard the screaming and crying from the footage being edited down? Sounds like those police were lucky in getting a sneak preview.

I agree, I’ve seen all of these and usually I’m kinda snobby about them cause at best they’re extremely gorey, but this one also has a very well written story (and tbh, probably the best story these of any of them), not to mention there is still good amounts of gore (the leg scene is probably my favorite).

I like Tobin Bells performance & John’s dynamic with Amanda, but the first 40 minutes were kind of dull, the next hour was fun, and the last twenty minutes were dumb… also why is this movie 2 hours? If you like the Saw series, you’ll get a kick out of it, but it didn’t do much for me. Congratulations on the newborn, I’m happy for you and your wife

Happy Halloween everyone! 🦇👻💀 Finally got to see Saw X! Totally worth the wait Its the longest Saw film to date and it’s a bit of a slog after about 45 min before we get to the stuff fans love about these movies The traps are very inventive, the gore is plentiful, and I’m amazed there’s a good amount of heart in here so to speak It’s more than just being the torture porn we are accustomed to; this genre can work if you can feel some heartfelt emotion for its main antagonist Particularly for John Kramer and when his apprentice Amanda comes back we see her first instance of reluctance to go forward with the work they’re doing She also inserts some much needed humor Someone even points out the hypocrisy behind his morals which I believe something critics and fans have always wondered about The filmmakers avoid so many gaps in logic next to confusing timelines that plagued previous films in the past There's a lot this movie covers as far as medical grifters, tracking down doctors that have miracle cures being targeted by pharmacies to stop them from making enrichments, looking at physicians taking away hope from patients who’s lives are on a time crunch It stinks this is stuck in one location, I would’ve preferred all the victims to be in separate spaces Again the beginning is a lot of set up, some things stray away from the established lore, some head scratching moments too It stinks the eye trap is so short at the beginning too But it is the best sequel next to part 6 almost matching the first one The mid credits scene is very cool too bringing back a fun supporting character from the other sequels Tobin Bell still rules as Jigsaw as we see a more human side of him, there’s more character work than just being about a serial killer, he has a sense of honor He’s just like any of us-flawed, vulnerable, victimized, often unreasonable ‘Saw X’ may be full of blood but there’s a lot more potential for stories to be told filling in possible spaces where the series can go in the future

In terms of the traps being more survivable it makes perfect sense as that was Kramer's calling card. It was Hoffman and Amanda who made the horrific maiming or straight up impossible traps. Also I gotta add, not de-aging Tobin really works as at this point John is supposed to have gone through a number of dangerous treatments.

One trap I’d like to see is a greedy billionaire who refuses to use his wealth to help others in need including his own family being chained to this device with a scale and bags of quarters. He has a certain amount of Time to put quarters in the balance before him and tip the scale. But there’s sand pouring into the other balance. Symbolically the man must give away his money in order to survive and cast aside his greed. If he refuses to toss the quarters away from him, he’s going to die.

The reason why Saw X turned out to be good is because it has Jigsaw as the main character which was missing for so long because idiots killed him in Saw 3 and then they regretted. I haven't watched a Saw movie since Saw 2. Maybe I check this out.

Saw X is actually a movie. It has character progression and a story. They set up the ending and made it pay off. Felt like it was the first time everyone who died in a trap pretty much deserved it and it wasn't just a case of "You jaywalked, now here is a trap that will either maim or kill you." Also loved seeing Amanda again and featured so prominently.
