Thank you for explaining the saw-stop mechanism. This morning I had a very close call with my table saw. Took off some skin on my thumb, using first aid. I will be buying the SawStop, I have had my convincer. If I was alone in the shop and the accident was fatal, I would not be able to get help. Peace of mind and safety are #1.

Would be nice to have this tech in all saws. ❤

Yesterday I seen a young man I was working with slip next to a running table saw and whenever he went to catch himself his hand landed right on the blade. We were all freaking out but managed to wrap a makeshift tourniquet above his hand, which turned out to saved his life. The hospital in Walker La had to fly him to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

The human body is conductive so the signal in the saw blade changes when skin makes contact with it. It's that change to the signal that activates the AIM safety system and engages the aluminum brake.

The small fence won't eliminate kick back so don't try cross cutting against it.

Would it matter if the Operator wore Gloves?

As long the blade makes skin contact, it's going to trigger. The bad new is having a glove get tangled in a blade causes it's own set of issues and damage. I'd avoid gloves all together with a table saw if at all possible.

General rule is that if you are working with spinny things then you leave the gloves in the cupboard.

@@reece674 I'm enquiring abt the Sensing Mechanism behind this machinery. Not about endorsing wearing gloves or bare handed.
