49 years ago I left Hawaii, and knew I would go back one day. As it happened when I had the means, other commitments kept me from it. Now my body is thrashed, I can't walk or swim safely, and I was a fish back then. Im telling you nothing you don't know, just reminding you never trade the sunset you have at that moment for one that may come. Time and Tide wait for no man. I still have dreams of the smell of the flowers on Oahu. And nothing in these nearly 50 years since, has been as sweet. Not even close. Think on this as you go forward, and punch each other in the arm, hard, so you dont forget.

Having started in the baby nuggs era, then going back to the beginning during COVID, it's been a wild ride. There's a reason why the OG sailing channel spawned so many after all these years. It's truly art, and its done so well you cant help but feel like you were out there sailing with them. Getting to know Josje from Vagabond first then realizing she started on Delos and really seeing her grow up and then to see how much her and Brady really loved each other but knew they had to let go, was intense. Getting to know Frida and Max and Bubs was so fun and I feel like I love each of them like they were my own friends. Josje though will be particularly missed. There is just something special about her vibe and what she brought to Delos, it was apparent even in the short few episodes of her on Vagabond and its was great to see it in depth on Delos. It's gonna take some time to process this episode and savor it for how powerful it really was. This era is really gonna be missed. It was truly a great escape from this tumultuous year of 2020, when real escape is still months away. Brady I have nothing but the utmost respect for you brother. Your maturity and your sentimental and deep perspective resonates with how I try to live and think about my own life.

I felt as though I just watched the finale of the American TV show "Friends", except this version was based in reality. I have followed Brian and Brady since the beginning after catching a view of their travels on the evening news in Chicago. I never stopped following you guys. The 7 of you became family and it is hard to digest it has been over 4 years for Josje and Brady. I smiled the whole time while watching this video and even met some onions at the end. All 7 of you are incredibly lucky to say that simple phrase "I sailed from New Zealand to Madagascar with 7 friends over a 4 year duration and we all fell in love". I am envious. Safe travels to all of you.

I hope the year has passed kindly and has been full of happiness, Mr. Brady. You took my mind away with you during your video of diving with mantas while I was deployed in 2010 (deployed from '07 through '14). Sorry you wretched on balut in the P.I. and kava near Fiji - but I laughed anyway. I had hoped the lady from your 2010 videos would return -- she did not. I hope, when in reverie of your voyage, never does an unhappy time surface.

Peter d'Entremont we knew it was comingm, right? ever since chagos, and Babs, Frida, and Max weren't going to be staying which created the tension of knowing it was coming, the channel (Delos in particular Brady) had to "pay" off, which they did; although, I'm not sure how I feel about the channel's first montage (unless you count the early videos), it is so over/mis-used these days. or works here, I think, for a few very smart reasons.

Among the things that set Sailing SV Delos apart from other "sailing" videos is the humanity that is always the centerpiece of your stories. This chapter is, to me, for many reasons, perhaps the best "storytelling" of all your videos. We knew what was coming, but the beautiful, heartfelt, honest, and fully open way Brady told this story is a revelation, not only of his skills as an editor, but of who he is as a person. He took the time to show us the joys, the beauty, and the very real pain of his experience. It was a brilliantly edited video, and an exceptional telling of an honest, painful, wonderful story. I've been in the video industry for over 40 years, have taught well over 1000 editors, and I can honestly say, Brady, this is among the best pieces of storytelling I have seen. I hope this, along with the year since the events shown here took place, have helped you heal. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with all of us.

This is still one of the saddest moments, even in my own live. I remember when I saw this when the video was newly released. Back at the time I didn’t miss one single episode of “Sailing SV Delos” and was following the videos as they came out. The way they filmed the videos made me feel as if I was actually onboard as a crew member myself. As close as one can get to sailing around the world without actually doing it. I still miss the crew that left in this episode. I wonder what they are doing now? Will they not ever come back? The long hug at 25:51 is the most authentic moment ever recorded in the history of KZbin. These videos are what made me by a sailboat myself and start learning to sail.

I first watched an episode maybe a week ago, life onboard with the nugget. Then I watched a few more before that. I watched the wedding and Sierra roaming around on board. I got to Brady and Blue having the boat to themselves. I did not want to watch that. I was invested in the small family aboard a boat. I decided to watch some from the beginning. And here I am several days later completely engrossed in your lives!! When Brady and Josje went on the other boat all I could think about was what their adventures are. Now we come here....I knew it was going to happen but OH MAN does it suck. I understand how people grow apart and need to find their own adventures. I just want to say...excellent storytelling Delos crew!!! And what an emotional episode. #thatbrohug 😭 So here I go, sails up ready to keep on and find out about the next crew and how Blue comes aboard. Keep it up! ❤️ Thank you.

Greetings Delos, I wanted to say how incredible the passage through the storm was on your insatiable quest for adventure and happiness. Then the sad farewells touched me. Like it was said time eventually runs out and like your wise father so prophetically stated we must turn the page and begin a new chapter in our lives. I watch in awe of the beauty of the reefs, the striking clarity of the crystal waters and the breathtaking glory of a brilliant sunrise. I ponder the warm sun upon my face and the gentle tradewinds through my hair while rocking upon those restless torquoise waves. Oh such glory I see and dream. Blue skies and a following sea Delos as the next chapter begins anew. Thank you all...

That ending though. Nice to know bros are there for each other emotionally. These videos and your travels really have brought a ton of joy and positive vibes into the world. Keep on keepin' on.

And just like that, the chapter ends. Well done Brady. Tears and smiles from me. Way to go into the tough emotions rather than hiding from them as some might have done.

I know this video is from a while back - what a beautiful episode! Brady, the strength and composure you'd shown through such a difficult process was amazing. I shed many tears and watched this one several times. I LOVE the positive attitude the Delos crew brings in every episode (through good times and bad) - a true inspiration to all who walk upon this earth. As another show-watcher said - whenever a problem occurs, Brian simply says: "Here's the problem, and we have to deal with it" (perhaps a curse here or there 😋), and fixes it with a smile. Also love the respect you treat every different culture you come across in your awesome voyages - with open minds, and the universal language of friendliness and smiles - you guys just ROCK!

I have never cried so much over a youtube video in my entire life. This got me. Big time. After seeing yall together for so long and the bond yall created.. I know it was going to happen but damn that was sad. I love Brady and Josje so much and respect them tremendous for the way they handled that and made that decision. Peace.

Yes I agree you can see the hurt in his heart on his face as he watched the van and his life drive away. But at the same time what a brother he has to offer a hug.

I have just discovered your blog, and truly this one is the most meaningful. I love the ocean and the boat, but the people are what drives this channel. The pain in Brady's face is real. I do not know you in real life, but we all have felt that pain. I watched this and felt all the pain of leaving my love ones at one time or another. There are always times in our lives that this happens and it is never easy. Me, I always listen to music that reminds me of the good times, and try to forget about days like this. Because I was born in the 70's that means I love Hair Metal and 80's power ballads. I hope this finds you fully healed, Brady, but never forget the pain.

Goodbye/see-ya-laters are so damn hard.I'm so grateful that I've met people who are now scattered across the entire globe (yeah, weirdos, it's a ball). 80% of my motivation to buy a boat and just ....go.... is eventually finding all those far flung friends again. Babs, Josje, Frida, and Max, hope our paths cross at some point in the future. Karin, Brian, and Brady - I'm sure we'll run into each other one day, as long as you and Delos are sailing. Much love to all 7 of you, no matter how many years behind!!

I'm 55 and this is the first You Tube video that brought tears to my eyes. Brian you should be a professional cinematographer. The scene where the taxis leaves and you slowly swing back to Brady on the other side of the road was PERFECT. I felt his pain. Keep up the good work and while I'll miss the old crew I look forward to what lays ahead.

Obviously all these are edited and it is impossible for an outsider to know exactly who each of your as a person. But, I think Brady appears to be a good person and it was probably healthy for him to process this emotionally. I love watching your videos and dream of some day being lucky enough to have a family of friends like that. Best of luck to each and everyone of you.

Damn....that was some heavy footage.I feel like I have grown along with you.Watching this for all this time.I think I have been aboard for a couple years now.I have been introduced to some great music, gotten to know how beautiful people can be when they arent bogged down in the rat race and witnessed some of the most beautiful places that cameras rarely go.Nevermind the seamanship that I can draw inspiration from should my dream of sailing ever shakes hands with reality. Brady is a strong man.I dont pretend to know what your personal beliefs are when it comes down to cosmic relationships....but if that Yoshi wasnt "the one" then I cant wait to see who she is.Gonna be hard to beat that one bro.All of yall are great people.Multi talented with so many major character building moments on the open sea....lords of your own lives.Literally floating in the breeze.Yall mustve really gotten some major things correct in your previous lives. For everything to work out the way it has.I tip my bottle to ya.Lookin forward to watching out for whats next.Fair winds and CHEERS!

The beautiful and refreshing non-drama of this vlog had my guard down and left me completely unprepared for how I was going to react to this event. Max, Frida and Babs were absolutely fantastic! Losing Josje....wow, I'm a grown-ass man and I was devastated. Brady's pain was absolutely palpable. How couldn't it be?...the love grown by that group is plainly obvious, inspiring and down-right intoxicating. After reading several of the comments below and reflecting upon it, I can't help but feel a great sense of warmth knowing that you guys got a chance to enjoy and share-in such an AMAZING experience with a group of TRULY amazing people. The simple honesty of this vlog brings the viewer along on the adventure and has them feeling like part of the family (crew) in no time. Just as "truth is stranger than fiction"...life (even that of others) is far more powerful than any manufactured bubble-gum gratuitous drama. From the bottom of my heart....thank you Delos! Thank you for sharing:)

Discovered you folks midstream. Don’t even remember where. But came across this episode at some point, and then knew I needed to back to the start. Loved seeing the growth and transitions. Great work Brady, putting this one together. I know you’ve long since moved on but still you did a great job. You had us tearing up with you. You all brought me some light and perspective at a tough time, so thank you for that. I’ll keep watching, especially when I need some more. Now go do some good work. Find away to give back. You’ve been blessed. Share as much as you can. And best to the old crew; I hope their adventures have reflected their blessings. For the current crew, perhaps we’ll say Hi, as you pass by New England.

Just found out about SV Delos and been binge watching, this has wrecked me! I was in tears when i saw it yesterday and now reading the comments has brought me to tears again! A fully grown man no less, lol. Just an amazing crew and amazing channel but at the moment i feel like it's the end :(. Lets see what comes over the next couple hundred episodes. It's hard enough to watch Brady go through this so hope time has healed wounds a bit and i hope some of the old crew visit in new episodes!

The best youtube vid I've ever watched....one I won't soon forget. It was surprisingly emotional for me to watch. Thanks so much for taking us on this journey. You folks have sketched a period of awesomeness - living love and loving life - humanity at its' best. You've adeptly drawn us into your journey and while this was a year ago I sure hope your lives continue to be filled with peace love and happiness. What beautiful memories you have created from that time. Thank you and Namaste.
