The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary’s mission is to provide a self-sustaining African carnivore sanctuary for the purposes of wild species preservation through education, awareness and funding, especially pertaining to the rapid decline of large carnivores in Africa due to habitat loss, human-predator conflict, unscrupulous hunting, disease and their illegal trade.
On this channel, The Lion Whisperer films the majority of his footage using a GoPro camera, allowing viewers to get as close as possible to the lions, leopards and hyenas at the sanctuary.
Kevin Richardson hopes to provide viewers insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and in turn, by watching the videos on the channel, viewers will be directly contributing to the conservation of these majestic animals.

The bushfires in Australia (where I am from) have not just claimed the lives of an estimated one billion animals and also, as a result, some endangered species may be driven to extinction but additionally 34 people have been killed so far. It is truly a catastrophe of epic proportions. That said my heart goes out to Kevin. I have loved this channel and Kevin's work for many years and I have especially followed the lives of Meg and Amy. When I started following this crazy man with his lion's, I never knew their journey would make me feel part of them the way I have! Then once I felt this way, I was alway's afraid of this day..the day if something happens to the two lions and whisperer I have grown to love, who we all have grown to love! And So just as I imagined, Amy passed and my heart is broken, and aching, and I can't stop it! I think Kevin it's fair to say Kevin has spread more then just awareness! He taught us to fall in love with these lion's, etc, as if they were our own!! I hope Meg and Kevin can heal together and find comfort they need in one another! We Love you!!

I just found you and your beautiful feline family. I watched the Lion Whisperer from 10 years ago when Meg and Amy where little and the 3 cubs were born. And did some digging to find your KZbin channel to see this tear jerking yet lovely video of your goodbye to Amy. I can not imagine how hard that was for you. I am a mess and I didn't even know her. You just have such a special special life. Kevin your gift has taught so many people so many new things a bout wild felines and their capabilities. I am a Leo and I feel such a draw to lions in particular, don't know why. Just know they are so regal, fiercely loyal and stunning creations we must treasure. I am so blessed I found your channel I have so many wonderful videos to now watch and so many more animals to get to know and love. Kevin, Amy was a special lion: her beautiful and affectionate nature was very apparent in your videos. Im sure you are missing her so much. I have learned so much from your videos about lion behavior. It is very apparent how much you love your lions. I can see much of their personalities as you describe their characters and they are all so lovable. Not just because Amy is gone but for me, I thought she was the most beautiful lion out of all of them. Thank you for mentioning how to distinguish between Amy and Meg by Meg’s little tuff of hair near her right ear, otherwise it would be difficult to tell them apart as they both look nearly identical. Both so beautiful. You spent 17 wonderful years with Amy and both of you brought each other joy. I hope you heart is mending well.

I never thought that a relationship between two animals and a man can be so beautiful. I never even imagined that I would be anxious to know what the future entailed for them after Amy was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I never knew I could get so emotional that I would openly weep at my work place after I got to know that she passed away. Thank you for teaching me these valuable lessons in life.
