Never stayed at the Trop in Vegas, but I had some fantastic times as a youngin at the Trop in AC. My first time there my 6 friends split 2 rooms for a weekend and I drove. Parking garage was 20$ a night. By the time we left, my college boy ass was almost broke. The AM we left, I took my last 40$, put it in a slot machine, and ended up eventually winning 100$. Just enough to get my car out and put 40$ gas in my gas tank to drive home to North Jersey. My friends had to pull over twice to puke on the way home. Great times 😅

I stayed there about 20 years ago, in one of those original 300 rooms I think. It looked like it had never been renovated. Complete with avocado green leather chair and mirrors on the celling over the bed. I was there for work, so I didn't spend much time on the property. And when I did have an evening free, I went somewhere else.

🌴🦩While the Tropicana never caught my eye to get me to visit there, it is sad that so much history from 1957 will be gone in just over a week. Seeing everything lèt go. All the hoteks of yesteryear had stories to tell. Now gone. Too bad they couldn't somehow keep a portion of them up at least for like a museum.

I stayed at the Tropicana years ago 3 times I believe. I saw Ray Charles playing there as a lounge act (he was great). I’ve seen the “Follies” when it was a really amazing show on the strip. And, it’s the only time I ever saw a bedroom with bamboo furniture and a mirror on the ceiling. Also they used to have birds and other exotic animals all along the second floor walkway to the tower. So much history and great memories. Thanks for the revisit.

I'm glad I took the opportunity to finally use a comp offer at the Trop on my last trip in (December '22). There was nothing wrong with the room--decent size, clean, a little worn but hey, it was a comp, right? I always enjoyed the casino, even though it wasn't a particularly lucky one for me. I loved the stained glass ceiling, which made the table games area feel and look so bright. To all the employees--thank you for your years of service. I stayed here a week after you filmed this video. My friend and I stayed in the Club Tower on the 19th floor. This was my first trip to Vegas in 1981 and this is where we stayed. They had a room for me and my husband with TWIN beds. He immediately went down to the desk and told them we were not happy as we were not old enough to where we needed separate beds. I said the bedspreads looked like some I had pitched out a few years before. The front desk said they would send someone to our room to transport us to a much better room. It was great. One of the rooms with a balcony where you could see the pool. Been back there a few times since that and enjoyed every trip. I hate to see it being imploded on my birthday. I had wanted to drive up to be there for this but decided against it. Thanks for the video as it brings back such happy memories.

We were checking out the day you checked in, stayed 2 nights over the weekend for a VGK game and St. Patrick's Day. We decided to upgrade to a suite in the paradise Tower. Our room was massive, I think it was over 800 square feet which is not much smaller than my entire house! We had a corner room overlooking the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas boulevard so we had an amazing view of the MGM Grand, New York New York, and Excalibur. And our windows did open a little bit. Our key cards were actual fully white key cards. We spent a good deal of time exploring the pool area; we found a gate that was unlocked, so we went all over the pool area even though it said it was closed. We weren't supposed to be in there but what were they going to do? The only real issue we ran into was trying to find ice. I tried seven different floors in our tower looking for an ice machine that actually worked before I gave up. They also gave us like six bottles of water each day which was great, and our room had a wet bar with an empty fridge we could use. I'm so glad we got to stay there before she's gone. RIP Tropicana 😢😢😢

When we first started coming to Vegas in the early 00's....The Trop was a must do once we started renting a car. We would stay at the Westward Ho and drive down to the Trop in the afternoon. It was always packed, even hard to get into the restaurants. The past 10 years it has become a shell of its formal self. Not sure why. I guess it just wasn't hip enough to keep up with the megaresorts. I'm gonna miss it! Does anyone besides me remember the trapeze artists swinging from rings attached to that stained glass ceiling? Now that was entertaining!

Great vid! Still feeling sad about this closure four months later. The staff tribute was very class. I was there a couple days before you were. The trash bin in the pool area still hadn't been emptied when you did your walkthrough. Same big gulp cup there lol. Just a silly observation. But seriously, it was bittersweet walking through for the last time. There was a real nice woman working the cashier cage that was kind enough to give me and my brother each a deck of casino used cards after telling her how saddened we were by the closure. She said it wasn't much, but she hoped it was something we could enjoy. I was most grateful. Oddly enough, when I was videoing the pool area, there were people actually waiting for a small wedding. I didn't realize it immediately and was walking through the spot where the chairs and flowers were set up. I just thought they left em out since it wasn't gonna be used anymore. It wasn't til I was headed back inside I noticed the people coming out in formal wear. As much as the area was (understandably) left unattended with dried palm fronds on the ground and full bins, it surprised me to see anyone would be using the wedding area. I guessed maybe the ceremony was for a nostalgia thing or vow renewal. Also glad to know they saved the stained glass. Good memories there for me even though my first visit was only 11 years ago, but glad to have been able to go one last time.
