Dayum, this brings back memories of hours upon hours watching and listening to SBF playthrough of games. The zaibatsu may have dissolve but their legacy lingers on. Also, the sudden download complete notification of Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!! during Parasite Eve is the best moment in Zaibatsu history.

You know this let's play is responsible for me being a P&W fan today. I watched some of the OG TBFP videos on machinima when they first came out but I wasn't really a fan. Years later I see the Tarkus clip and thought it was incredibly hype and that lead to me looking at this let's play. They were halfway through when I started watching so I had a backlog which I quickly cleared cuz holy shit was this LP addicting. Pat had become even more entertaining and this Woolie guy, who was new for me, was immediately enticing to watch as he played. Happy to see the compilation for it, even if I have watched through the whole LP over 4 times. Still watching this cuz it's so damn good lmao.

i find it interesting that reggie's reaction to patches is as strong as woolie's reaction to lautrec. like patches, while a trickster, does still have value and a reason to keep him alive. lautrec takes away the hub. regardless of how you feel about him as a character you have nothing to gain by letting lautrec live and everything to lose

The sole reason to let Lautrec live up to the depths is in Remastered I think he can be summoned with Solaire for the gaping dragon. Not even sure if that was in the original release. …But then you need to book it to go kill him after so he doesn’t kill the Firekeeper.

this is a recurring bit from them, it's pretty funny. For some reason they also think armor doesn't matter in Elden Ring and Bloodborne, where they absolutely do matter for status effects even if you dont care about damage absorption.

I always feel like this needs context, ds2 fall dmg is based on your equipment load. Even with a light roll, if your weight is at 45 or higher, youre gonna take big dmg.

@@Gwennerini If you kill Oscar you have to wait for the death animation, along with the time for the item to spawn plus the stand still animation for picking it up, takes longer. If you talk to him, you can edge urself towards the end of the room’s doorway and mash through his dialogue. You get the items directly deposited into your inventory so you don’t have to wait for the death animations or do the pick up animation this way the moment you have the key and Estes you just run. People timed this out in early 2014. Because shit the first year of the game we all thought. “Well yeah no dialogue equals quick right?” And we were all wrong. You can find plenty of the OG speedrunners and challenge runners like Elijaz and Lobos Jr doing it in YT vods too

it is kind of interesting that Elden Ring does the inverse of what Pat talks about at the beginning. When they start going over the Tarnished who were raised they give them a fair degree of pomp that implies they'd be pretty important to the story (and tbf, two of them are) but most of them ended up being basically side or optional character.

Pat's super right about DS Fix. It shouldn't have been necessary much like having a mod to make Fallout 3 *work* on a modern system shouldn't be necessary. I don't need it to necessarily look better, I just need the games to work without a hoop to jump through. Even if its as simple as what is described, when its the primary reason people can justify (at the time) buying your product on the PC platform or not, that's embarrassing. It shouldn't have to be like that.

Sorcery in Dark Souls is kinda lame. Magic, in general, is neat, but you need to mix in Pyromancy to make it really shine, or else you just have a lot of Soul Arrow variants.
