Lol y'all are young af... I first heard this song on the radio in 93 or 94 when I was around 12... Still a favorite. The first band I ever heard bootleg recordings from. Somebody from an email list mailed me a tape in 1997. So so many fantastic unreleased songs like "good luck".

I was pretty much indifferent, just kinda "meh!" towards Counting Crews during their '90s heyday...then, 20-25 years after the fact, I revisit them, and now I'm thinking "Holy shit! Those guys were actually pretty damned **GOOD!**" It happens now and then with some bands; The Beastie Boys are another example. I was a senior in high school when "License To Ill" dropped; couldn't be bothered with them, thought they were shit. As it happens, I *still* think "License To Ill" sucks...which is what makes "Paul's Boutique" so utterly mind-blowing to me. "Paul's Boutique" didn't simply prove to be a marker of the band's maturation, so much as it seemed like it was from an entirely different planet.

In 2024, I’d advise NO ONE to move to a big city! Love the song and love the feels when it was sung but Americans are living in the proverbial “upside down” in 2024 and everything is inverted. Fascistic politicians are fusing with willing corporations in “public private partnerships” to subvert any semblance of representative governance and places like NYC and LA that actively seek to strip citizens of their legal right to self defense against criminals who are almost always armed while they let said criminals out without bail to terrorize the citizens creating anarcho tyranny. Get the hell away from these places because it will be chaos when the power is turned off and rationing happens…in the next 6-8mos. Love the band love the song, but please do your research and get as far away as you feasibly can.
