I know how much to-do there is about +2 Banes vs non SCV workers, but Serral used a very deliberate +3 Bane run-by (+3 banes 1 shot scvs and stimmed marines with +2 armor but not +3 armor) and prioritized +3 attack over carapace for this reason. 33:20 Would have loved to hear commentary about this!

@@kozatas You just have to watch the same game. One guy built banelings, a-moved them. Sometimes moved them and detonated but it was sometimes more harm than good. The other guy controlled his army. The guy who did more than click once and go back to queen injecting lost. You can argue macro all you want but it doesn't change what happens on the micro field. Your dishonesty is astounding.

Can someone explain why zergs don’t go for a spine crawler when they see that many hellions and it’s very predictable that they will lose a decent number of drones? Seems like instead of losing 8 drones they could lose less with a SC.

Was hoping to see some really good games, game 2 was just kind of awkward from TY (his mistakes, really, it seems), but what the heck was he even supposed to do in game 3? He just seemed behind from the start.

Game 3 came from the fact he just chose the wrong starting build on that map, and unless Serral plays with a bunch of mistakes that most people should not, TY would always be behind after such a start. That I also think was a mistake on TYs part. Should not pick builds like that vs people like Serral, that rely on other people playing badly, when they are usually really good. Use it on a better map.

he skipped a lot of gas and delayed his upgrades in order to create a stronger harass force but then serral just multitasked better than he did and defended everything without taking damage. I'm not 100% convinced zerg is overpowered I think Serral just has more actions to use than any of the other top players right now.

@@BinxyBrown Well, I think Reynor is faster than Serral, but Serral is a bit better in overall flexibility. But yes, Serral's APM makes most any other pro seem slow, where it does not seem they could do quite so much every moment.

TY was really off his game here. I don't know what he was doing just massing marines and marauders without any tank support against hydra ling bane. He got completely steamrolled when he tried it, and then just did the same thing again and got steamrolled again.

My thoughts: Protoss vs Zerg seems impossible. Unless Protoss wins with an all-in or strategy that catches the Zerg off guard, they cannot win at all. Ling/Roach/Ravager will destroy anything Protoss throws at Zergs, even if Protoss goes for high tech builds. It's very hard to harass the Zerg economy as well, outside early adepts or oracle, which means Zerg can just mass expand and build up an economy very very quickly. Terran vs Zerg. I don't know why the top Korean Terrans were getting smashed by the EU Zergs. Was it because it was online? Terran needs way more micro than Zerg, constantly dropping, stutter step, splitting, protecting medivacs etc... Whereas Zerg can annihilate a Terran army with attack move units such as ling/bane. Which means when there is lag/delay, it cripples the Terran way more than Zerg. I am assuming the struggles were due to lag, or are the EU Zergs that good?

trap 3-1'd reynor the next day. protoss is making a killing in douyu cup against top zerg players. so yeah "protoss vs zerg seems impossible" is an outright wrong statement. terran vs zerg is more terran favoured than zerg favoured due to massive zerg nerfs in the last patch.

For everyone claiming Zerg is op in this matchup: Inno wiped out Dark 2-0 twice in GSL on the same day as this match, and also this season in GSL, Special went 2-0 over soO twice. Oops. No, ZvT isn't perfectly balanced, but how about giving a little more credit to Serral's ZvT (& Reynor)? EDIT: And it's a valid point that the Koreans that had to play their matches in the middle of the night were certainly at a disadvantage (like TY here playing at 2-3am).

ZvT isn't perfectly balanced. it's terran favoured. it can be seen in korea where at least 3 of the top 5 zergs and all of the top 5 terrans reside. the top zergs are simply unable to beat the top terrans (who've all mysteriously gotten better at the game after the last patch)

If a top zerg loses to Terran he probably threw, or it was a build order loss. But if its back and forth, theres no reason why they should ever lose. The casters praise Serral the whole series. Zerg gets more bases faster, so more money, so he can just throw banes into anything and have inefficient trades. Once zerg is ahead, there is no comeback potential. There was times where Serral rebuilt 70+ zerglings. Such a joke. Zerg can bank wayyyy too many larva. Their macro potential is the biggest problem along with the whole map vision from creep
