Hi there I’m doing the same. Can I ask how yours is going so far?
@anonrelentless13112 жыл бұрын
So in love with this dude, I have an 06 G35 6 speed but I have always been a huge fan of the Sc300/ Soarer looks and that 1UZ. Also, my trans rattles noticeably even with the dual mass flywheel so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
@JonathanMai2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about looks, they look great. And I have gotten used to the rattle at this point. I would like to find some sound deadening matt to help with the rattling.
@anonrelentless13112 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanMai Hahaha yeah man I usually just ignore the rattle or turn up the music a bit. Sound deadening mat is also something I’ve been wanting to try on my ‘97 Ranger because it has a very noisy trans as well, despite working flawlessly. Lots of options on eBay for sound deadening. Good luck dude, make a video if you end up doing it 👍👍
@JonathanMai2 жыл бұрын
@@anonrelentless1311 I ended up using Kilamat from Amazon and it helped a tiny bit. On another note, do you got any other video ideas I could add to my list?
@anonrelentless13112 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanMai Nice man good stuff!! Hope you had a chance to film it as I’m interested to see the results. A video that I really want to see at least is some good raw POV driving; whenever you get a GoPro of course. I always appreciate those style of videos with POV and no music as it’s almost like we as the viewer get to experience the car how you as the driver do. Is the SC300 your daily or more of a project?
@JonathanMai2 жыл бұрын
@@anonrelentless1311 DM me on Instagram and I can show you how I did the sound deadening. Also, I am looking for GoPro so POV videos will be up soon. It's my daily driver, I drive it to college haha.

The chatter might not be single vs dual. Usually that is the downside of any trans adaption kit, and the upside of using something OEM, like an R154. The adaption plates always chatter, rattle, jingle. Also, save up $900 dollars for an LSD, and just do it once. Your welded diff will be horribly annoying when driving, and the extra wear on your rear end will result in broken axels. Cars with that weight and welded diffs are a big no no. Sticky and wide tires will multiply that problem.
@JonathanMai10 ай бұрын
You're right, but I can't justify a LSD when it costs a lot more to maintain. A welded diff IMO is cheaper in the long run, might not be for everyone but it's totally fine for now. And the rattle doesn't annoy me too much, so I don't mind.

I thought the CD009 was supposed to fit without trans tunnel modification? Did you have to modify it because you used a no-cut adapter?
@JonathanMai Жыл бұрын
I really don't know how people fit the CD without any hammering, the back of the trans literally hits the top of their trans. My only thought is that the tunnel changes for different years, so that's why they don't need to hammer, but I could be wrong.

Hey man, I'm planning on swpping my sc300 with a w58. My question is, were you able to install the supra clutch pedal? Also, do you know if a mk4 supra pedal+master cylinder would work in the sc300?
@JonathanMai Жыл бұрын
I bought my pedal kit from driftmotion. After buying it, I saw a couple of people saying that the xcessive clutch pedal would snap if you fatigued it So I bought the mk4 one (Grannas Racing) and tried to use it with the rest of the drift motion kit. It's not compatiable.

@@JonathanMai Yea I think the excessive master is only compatible with the excessive pedal. Keep it up on the videos though, you're like the only guy that makes sc videos
