I learned the other day from Catch N Cook Cal. That if you take your snorkel out of your mouth as soon as you start going down, then you don't make that gurgling noise as you go down. Kevin said it can scare fish if your trying to spear them.

Steinhatchee, Florida was hit very hard by a Category 3 Hurricane a couple weeks ago. They have a very long road to recovery. Hopefully, they can recover enough for Brook and her crew to visit next year. If not, perhaps the following year. Recalling the memory of your sweet Grandma was very heart warming. Scalloping is a lot of fun. Our favorite spots were at the mouth of wikiwatchee and homassassa rivers. Now I probably spelled them wrong. But we sure did have a lot of fun. But I haven’t been able to do it for years and I sure do miss it.

Glad you got to come this year before the huricane hit us as the coast is going to have to recover from this as a lot of the coast and inland areas were hit pretty ruff and will take some time to recover. But always love to see the heart and love you all share as a family that seems to be some we all need to see and share more these days. As the love you carry in your heart Brooke is truly the gift of beauty worth and love of which heaven has created you to be in the beautiful woman and the beautiful wife of which Victor truly has received. For your whole family including those your brothers who have been given to share in the family love of which they carry as well and is seen when you all come together as one in a great adventure to which each one of you are grateful and thankful for every moment you share in the love you can truly see and can feel as you share these great times as this. Memories that will live on in each one of you and carry something special in the love you all shared in these amazing moments. Brooke, my son is 7 and I think this would be a great introduction to sport diving for him. I live in California and our home waters are more for 14+ but think this would be a great family trip. Can you share some technical info about season, license, strategy for newbies. Even information about where to stay would be appreciated.

I was in horseshoe beach (a month before Idalia) and the first dive I took in the water I grabbed 7 scallops all at once ! it was a very great feeling. brought back 18 gallons from a week of scalloping. I've been scalloping in the area for at least decade never experienced that before. I feel bad for those folks in horseshoe, Steinhatchee and cedar key !

I used to scallop in Palma Sola Bay in Bradrnton/Sarasota. We lived in Flamingo Cay and would load up. I’m going to cook a similar recipe this weekend. Have you tried deglazing the pan the scallops were sautéed in with the wine or broth?? So good!!!
