And then I’m going to show you various easy ways of treating the problem at its root. I can promise you that after watching this video, you‘ll never see hair loss in quite the same light.

Transcription
On the top of our head, directly underneath the skin and subcutaneous tissues, is a sheet of connective tissue called the galea aponeurotica.
Galea is latin for helmet, which makes sense when you consider this thing’s shape and location on the head.
Now on the front, rear and sides, the galea is connected to various muscles.
These are constantly exerting pressure by compressing and stretching it.
Which results in chronic tension.
The galea is firmly bound to the overlying skin by a rigid subcutaneous layer.
So think of a sandwich with multiple layers. Skin at the top, subcutaneous layer underneath, and galea at the bottom.
Due to the firmness of the subcutaneous layer, any tension in the galea is transmitted to the overlying scalp skin, and the whole thing acts as a single unit.
There are two big clues that the galea is related to hair loss.
Firstly, hair loss in men is restricted to parts of the head overlying the galea.
On the sides and back of the head that are covered with muscle, the so-called occipital and temporal regions, there is no hair loss, even in advanced baldness.
The second major clue is the correspondence between the degree of tension across the galea, and the pattern in which hair loss develops.
Take a look at these two graphics.
On the left you see the severity of tension in the galea.
Lighter blue areas are those with the highest tension.
On the right is the Norwood map of the head, which shows the typical progression of hair loss.
There is an astonishing correlation between the two.
Areas with the highest tension are the first to lose hair, followed by those with intermediate tension.
Areas with the least tension are the last to go.
The mathematical probability of this being due to chance is less than 1 in 10000.
Tension in the galea is believed to result in a chronic, low-grade inflammation of the overlying skin.
In response to this inflammation, the scalp upregulates its expression of DHT.
In turn, the DHT induces a protein called transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1).
This protein, along with the DHT, result in a chronic, gradual, structural reshaping of the scalp tissue.
The most important characteristics of this reshaping being fibrosis.
By fibrosis, we refer to an excess deposition of collagen around the follicles.
Now collagen is a protein that forms one of the essential building blocks of human skin.
But when its production increases out of control, it begins to form what’s essentially microscopic scar tissue.

My hair looks fuller, thicker overall. I have a spot in the very front on top that has been thin all my adult life. This spot is not as thick as the other hair on my head but it is thicker than it was. Who knows in 6 months this thin spot may be even thicker. If not, I have seen enough benefits in terms of my hair being thicker that I will continue to do the massages.

Ive eliminated alcohol and sugar from my diet, I massage my hair morning and night for 5 mins and Ive been able to get 3/4 of an inch a month, compared to when I tried growing my hair out 5 years ago when my diet was poor and I still drank every once in a while, So yes diet is everything and also massaging your scalp and only conditioing your hair once a week and only using shampoo once a month for me has work so well in growing my hair long and thick

I heard the more you wash your head, the more your scalp produces oil to prevent dryness, hence the greasy hair. I swear my mom washes her hair only once a month, and she has beautiful hair. Her head doesn't stink like it would if I hadn't watched my head for a month.😂 She doesn't do it purposefully. It is just because she has always been too busy with her job to earn money to raise us her children, and now when she doesn't have to work( she still does, though) and has more time, she still continues to wash her hair once in a month.

As a 14 years of hair loss experience , first time i convinced with this theory . Because i have noticed that DHT must be secondary reason for hair loss . If any anti inflammatory agent like garlic paste appliances , reduces hair loss as well as DHT. From the beginning , I have noticed that there may be other reasons which triggers DHT production on scalp. When i became young , i sufferd from pimple , i had't touch or stratch my face skin for 3 years as a result my skin on face wasn't expand according to scalp or other parts of head and entire head scalp became tight and as you explain how tension transmitted to the skin , i really had noticed it. Even though if you watch a person suddenly became fatty loss hair because his skin doesn't not expand according to his muscles and we can see his forehead skin tension. May be his food or digestion is not contribute to enlarge skin. Even bodybuilders by using get bald , becasuse of imbalance of skin and muscle expansion. I think tension is the primary cause and that tension creats DHT.

I used to have the darkest brown type hair u can imagine, Nowdays my hair is light brown because of balding and thinning. So the change is very noticable. I did the following and noticed the crown of my head is less visible by the day and my hair feels stronger and healthier. I've been doing it for one month now. * Head massaging (daily about 10 minutes a day) * Changed my diet to 90% organic food (not online from Amazon, but from a local organic store) * Apply rosemary oil and Hyalogic HA Biotin Hair & Scalp Spray before bedtime (nightly) * Take saw palmetto oil daily * Daily intake of collagen peptide about 4 teaspoons a day (Type I and Type III) * Add Tea Tree oil and rosemary oil to shampoo and conditioner (I shampoo twice a week and condition daily) So I'm not sure which one helps. I believe each of those helps. Massaging alone wouldn't work well, otherwise there would be hair-growth massage parlors everywhere. It's hard work to try to maintain your hair health. Again, try to find the product at your local organic grocery stores because you know the product is real. If you get it from Amazon, most likely it's fake, especially something you put in your body and apply to your head/hair.

Hi! Congrats for the channel! One question, I understood DHT provokes increase of colagen and thaat causes negative fibrosis. But at the same time in another video you explain how dermaroller's main benefit is increasing colagen in the scalp. So, what's wrong?
@akeelyaqub2538
@akeelyaqub2538 Жыл бұрын
Excess collagen causes fibrosis but a stable amount of collagen will essentially reverse fibrosis tissue. Basically by inducing mild collagen production it gets rid of all the fibrosis that was caused by constant excess inflammation and collagen production which is basically what fibrosis is.

I’ve thought about this a lot since watching this video and have a theory that part of the reason the hair seems more dense because the stretching loosens the skin allowing the hair follicles to literally move closer together. This is interesting because some of the thinning that people experience may be mechanical with the follicles gradually moving apart as tension grows across the scalp.

Just my view on why men lose head hair (but not beards!) ,basically, we don't need head hair, and when stressed our bodies use nutrients for key areas (which doesn't include the scalp!).....the beard (around the mouth) is obviously a key area (food/ water)...so we are programmed to keep these key areas functioning .so essentially, the head hair (depending on genetics) will only thrive when the body is healthy and not stressed/ trauma

When I was around 20 years old I could see what the future of my hair was going to be. Even before I could see my hairline receding at the temples and the crown thinning. Dad was bald. My Granddads were thin on top and so were two of my three uncles. I came across a book by a natural health expert of the day named Pavo Airola. In his book he highlighted the galea as the cause of male pattern baldness. He also wrote about a surgery that relieved the tension on the scalp by cutting the galea at several locations. I don't know if this surgery was of any help. And I could never find anyone who performed this surgery. But I would still be open to it if it were available. In the book, not only did the galea cause tension but it was described as growing thicker, thereby cutting off circulation to the follicles at the top of the head. I've been doing massage for a LONG time. But I don't see much results. Maybe a bit. I wish there was something easy one could do to get at least some of the hair back. But that might be asking for too much. BTW, the book I cited I read in 1976. That's how old I am.

@justincase2281
@justincase2281 10 ай бұрын
@@Scythianf I wish I could share it. It's long gone now. But I do recall that scalp massage helps with circulation to the follicles, and there was a surgery called a Galeaotomy, where several small incisions were made into the scalp to cut the Galea loose to free up the tension in the scalp so more blood could flow to the follicles. That's all I can tell you. And I never found a doctor who even heard of the surgery. Next best thing to this, I guess, would be to try one of those laser/red LED caps like "Capillus" that enhance circulation to the scalp. Best of luck.👍

@@justincase2281 I've seen a study where they studied hair regrowth with Botox injections in scalp muscles. And they had good results. Even in this video they mentioned botox.
