But it looks like a fairly innocent comment coming from anywhere else, and the scammer can't let on that it's so insulting without breaking character. Insulting someone and them not having the grounds the fire back tends to send people over the edge.

I'm an American living in Southeast Asia, though not the Philippines. While the Jollibee combo is indeed popular I think it has more to do with spaghetti and sweet Filipino tomato sauce being popular itself and thus a side at a chicken place. What I find interesting is that spaghetti and fried chicken is a popular combo throughout SE Asia at food court stalls labeling themselves as "western." I'm really not sure where they got the idea that this was western style food but it's everywhere. I actually wonder if maybe he's seen this and thought that would be a good thing to say to a "western" appearing person.

I'm starting to realize talking with these scammers myself and watching scambaiting videos dealing with text and phone scammer, that they typically don't understand English well enough to understand what you're saying like a third of the time. They tend to respond to people the same way an AI chatbot will. They'll roll over complex explanations and statements and only really understand to extremely simple ideas. Or maybe most scammers are actually fluent but aren't very intelligent to start with...they are simply preying on people who are in a weakened state, like a hyena or a small boy would.

I have such a good idea and if anyone could get it to work, you could. This is based on a scam on a video game called Runescape if you're familiar with it. A scammer would basically offer to double whatever money you gave them, however they would lure you in by delivering on their promise for small amounts, until you eventually gave them something substantial, then they would disappear. What would be amazing is if you could lure a scammer into doubling 50p or £1 or something, so they could "gain your trust" and tell them you would do it with £100 afterwards, then just run off with the 50p or £1 if they actually do it, who knows, maybe you could get yourself a nice collection of 50ps from scammers and use it for a food challenge video, funded by scammers. Much love Shrimp, keep doing what you're doing, you're amazing! :D
