I am so sorry to hear about your awful experience with that ct tech, that was definitely uncalled for he dosnt know what pain different people feel. I actually had an almost identical ct scan experience 2 months the ago on the sunny coast, they couldn’t find a vein first off, and kept stabbing me over and over, well that’s after the First Lady gave up, then second man comes in he tried 2 places and failed, eventually he thought he was in in the back of my hand, which is a very painful spot, but he wasn’t 100% confident he was in then either. But on getting that in my hand it starting really dripping blood, all over the floor, my hands, and his ungloved hands and he is trying to hold the cannula in with one hand, clean me up to tape it in place and clean the floor with cotton balls, meanwhile he is opening up sterile packets with his mouth ! So I had the first half of scan then he comes in and does the dye and hands are over head behind me, but I could feel it wasn’t right, well when I sat up at the end all the contrast was all over my hands, the bed everywhere. Again came the cotton balls trying to clean up the mess and poured saline all over my hands trying to clean them bad it’s pouring all over the floor again. It was a nightmare. I still don’t understand why they didn’t get the ultrasound machine when I requested it earlier to find the vein. After all that the results came back with a note of failed cannulation.
@caitlinscancerchronicles3 ай бұрын
Oh that sounds horrendous. I hate that many medical staff consider an ultrasound machine a compromise. It should happen a lot more quickly for bad veins.

Wow, I'm with you; I absolutely hate Canlas! They hurt like anything. That guy was inappropriate, as others have said. Wow! I think you need to let the other staff know if you hadn't already. I'm so sorry you went through that. When I had a cannula put in once, she totally went through to my muscle. It absolutely killed.

PRAISE the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST the LORD GOD our HEALER. JESUS took all our infirmities and bore all our sicknesses. With His stripes we are healed. Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you will be saved you and your family . My grandson Joseph Jacob was diagnosed with 4th stage Lymphoma. Must undergo chemotherapy for six months. But within one month he was cancer free. God is always the best and greatest HEALER. Read the Bible and pray. He will send his word and heal us. I couldn't walk for three days and l wanted to go to the hospital on Monday. Sunday l got this verse from God. "The prayer of faith will heal the sick'." I just repeated the verse again and again and exactly at 12 a.m. Monday morning a power from above touched me and I was healed instantly and started walking since then. PRAISE the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST the LORD GOD our HEALER.

What a hard day you had. I'm disappointed the person doing your iv was tone deaf to your declarations of pain, that should never happen. I guess we pick our battles and while you certainly have cause to pursue your complaint, sometimes it's better to use that energy on positive, moving forward steps. Perhaps all of the discomfort will lead to something positive for you. You deserve everything good, always wishing the best for you.

I think he was trying to console me to re-think that I wasn’t going to feel “pain” since he had to do it anyway. His reasoning was faulty though!

Hi Caitlin. Wow! That's a lot of tests to have just to see if you qualify for the trial. I am so happy you were able to get your white blouse clean. It seems as though inexpensive clothes rarely get stained. I have intended to tell you that my husband has quite a bit of pain when he has to have a scan with dye. The radiologist now puts lidocaine into his veins before adding the dye. It makes his pain much less. By the way, why are the children having holidays now? I know it is winter there. Keep the optimism going. You have already gone through so much. I admire your tenacity. Renae from North Carolina
@caitlinscancerchronicles3 ай бұрын
Hey Renae, I’ll have to keep that trick for the veins in the back of my mind, although coming in a video soon is a solution for now! In Australia we have four terms in a year and holidays at the end of each term so they get a holiday each season. For our private school it’s usually two weeks in Easter/Autumn, three in Winter, two for Spring and the. We have our big holiday for 8 weeks in Summer. State school holidays are a bit less. I couldn’t imagine not giving the kids a break throughout the years, they work so much better after a holiday.
