I am glad now as an adult i can afford my car with bose stereo system in it. I first heard holographic universe and pitch black progress in my fathers ML320 with bose speakers. The bass was insane in those albums. Yesterday i jammed overworld as my first song to shuffle through the album. I couldn't stop smiling. It's like scar symmetry gave me that nostalgia of being with my father again.

I kept on harassing my daughter until she also purchased the album! Sent me a screenshot of her playing Soulscanner on Father's day, which is my favorite song on the album

This album is absolutely stellar. The more I listen to it, the more it sounds like a celebration of Pitch Black Progress in many ways. I love how dark, mysterious this beast sounds, it's dripping with atmosphere. You feel a sense of hope with the most beautiful melodies Scar Symmetry has written, and yet that darkness keeps hurling back at you like a monster in deep space. 10/10. AOTY.

Lyrics (part I): Chrononautilus (0:00): Spawned by newborn gods Who view the flesh and bones as stepping stones Towards greater deeds That lie in wait beyond Endeavor to sever the binding ties that hold A locust swarm beckons the invasion of the soul This will inspire fear, yet they cower in vain Their negation of elation, so bizarre (lead them to this light of ours) Behind the curtains that divide They lead the masses to apparent light Thoughts of concern never return, the altergeist instated Pumped pre-programmed thoughts The saturated systems overthrown An invasive creed That dictates choice for none The dreaded embedded inside these programmed thoughts Will focus the questions in direction of our cause Behind the curtains that divide Leading the masses to apparent light Thoughts dim the blazing stars, blacking out the sun Night will fall on us, rejoicing world in tears And our foe points to the reason we came to this present state Forms block the sun Sheer daymare Objects spewed from infinity Reality shivering, the colors fade Released from skies that seem to sigh With consolation Discarding the beliefs, their pre-programmed thoughts Continue charge, aim for control Infernal tactics fail-safe, nanotech spores The outcome in uncertainty Behind the curtains that divide Leading the masses to apparent light Thoughts of concern sure to return, the altergeist negated Once it is done, altered world view Neural design brought to its demise Liberation, the shadow descends Chrononautilus --- Scorched Quadrant (05:00): Now gaze at this ashen world A declaration of I've been waiting nearly 9 years for this album. So many things have happened in my life during this time. It feels uncanny, the timing of it, with its power and beauty locked in harmony as I grow in the world. This album brings vivid imagery unlike any before, including hollographic universe. The moments of funk, though brief at times, linger with affect. Perilously, we make gains against the AI that reigns. The battfield is defined while the gridworm sneaks behind enemy lines. Signs of autonomy reappear, but history repeats itself. Thank you Scar Symmetry.

The album is stellar. It flows wonderfully and the density of the songs means they get better with every listen. Sick riffs, great melodies, incredible solos, crushing drums, some of the best clean and dirty vocals in the SS catalogue, it’s catchy, progressive, technically impressive, brutal and beautiful. 10/10 masterpiece of progressive melodic death metal. Per is one of the best kept secrets in the guitar sphere. His work in SS, Kaipa, Zierler and other projects demonstrates that virtuosity and musicality are not mutually exclusive but in fact two facets of achieving greatness.

After multiple listens, I feel happy to report that "Chrononautilus", "Scorched Quadrant", "Overworld", "Altergeist", "Reichsfall" and "Xenotaph" all are amongst my most favorite Scar Symmetry songs now. You gentlemen just keep evolving - and I'm very eager to witness what kind of graceful beast Phase III is going to be, now that Scar Symmetry is blessed with the force of two absolutely phenomenal guitar players. I also really like the story of "Phase II", as I am certain that the true neohuman will not be the product of cybernetic augmentations and synthetic biology, but rather emerge naturally as the result of consciousness (/spiritual) evolution and a life-respecting, sane, advanced socio-economic system that operates for the benefit of all humanity, not just for the fortunate few at the top of the pyramid. Sending you much love ❤

I've had your music in my ears since I met my first girlfriend 17 years ago. I met her on the same day I was introduced to you guys. I remember her fondly, but only my relationship with Scar Symmetry lasted. I'm going to leave a few of my thoughts on my first listen here. I love what you've done with the vocals! Chrononautilus aligns perfectly with my brain. I once had it on repeat an entire workday and it only improved my focus. Scorched Quadrant made me sad. Overworld made me happy. Very happy. The chorus gives me chills every time. It may be my new favorite. Altergeist is so many new things I can't tell how I feel. On the first listen I made many surprised facial expressions. It's very interesting! Reichsfall has hypnotized me with its rhythms, especially guitar. Digiphrenia Dawn gives me nostalgic feelings of your previous songs but I can't point to any songs. It's like I remember a song of yours that doesn't exist? Hyperborean Plains... I don't know how I feel yet. Gridworm I can not explain. It gives me an alien feeling that I will have to explore. The guitar work is remarkable. A Voyage With Tailed Meteors sounds like Dimmu Borgir snuck into the recording studio. Very refreshing and different! It still has that Scar Symmetry feel. Soulscanner gives me serious Holographic Universe feels. And then Symmetric In Design feels. And a little Dark Matter Dimensions. And a little something else. I love it. Xenotaph made me say "oh my god" out loud. That doesn't happen often. What is this chorus? No way. How do you do this? My jaw is hanging open throughout this one. I have no words. Absolute gods of metal the lot of you. This whole album feels like the essence of Scar Symmetry. If I'm recommending you guys to someone, this is the album. I'll go listen to it 200 times now. Hey guys. I am so grateful to you guys. When I had a bad time myself, your album Pitch Black In Progress was my absolute favorite album. Now I'm 41 and I know about your musical achievement. I find your solos super, the songwiring terrific and the jumps between the modes just fat. I've always been waiting for your albums and you've always been able to step it up a notch. I never managed to see you live until now. Either I had to play myself, I was drunk, or otherwise prevented. Now the world is in a state of flux and I don't think there will be gigs for much longer, the semi-professional musician league is being dismantled more and more, there are almost no clubs anymore and the eco-climamist will unfortunately wipe out our guild of art. Maybe we will still see each other somewhere in this universe. Peace on all your ways!

these last two albums are wonderful, enigmatic and bring a dense atmosphere and still not understood by many. Your style is unique, it's real and surreal in the same musicality.😈🤘🪐🖖🫀

I didnt think phase 1 could be improved upon but you really did it. The melodies here are absolute perfection and this will be among my favorite albums forever. However, I do have some thoughts about the story here. By introducing gods to this, we have crossed the line from science fiction to science fantasy, which is not inherently a bad thing. But as said in phase 1 the cyborgs are beings who aim to transcend space and time so we would basically have gods fighting against gods. One side turning the tide so easily feels unsatisfying and kinda forced. as phase 1 states these machines can survive independent of the environment so who knows how far they have spread throughout the universe? how can we know the virus really got them all? I hope phase 3 realizes how much untapped potential there is to this story and brings back the artificial gods. maybe some have survived somewhere and are now plotting revenge against the destruction of their empire. we could have gods fighting gods on a monumental scale. Anyway, looking forward to phase 3 regardless of how it turns out.

Finally got to listen to the full cd yesterday night, and I've gotta say, it's a great album! Production sounds really good, and musically you're once again pushing the boundaries of melodeath. So far, ”Reichsfall” is my favorite, followed closely by ”Altergeist”. The thematic work on those 2 songs is ace. The singles are also still going strong. Similar to others aforementioned, tracks 8 through 10 lose me a bit, while the title-track takes me home, again. Still can't believe, I made it to the choir as one of the participants. Great work overall, looking forward for the Phase III!

Dude ive been listening to scar symmetry since 2013. I thought they had broken up around 2014 so i just kept jamming their older songs. Little did i know i missed 3 albums. Tbh i thought Solution. 45 was a by product of Scar Symmetry cause their songs sounded similar. Glad to see i was wrong. Got some catching up to do, cause so far these newer albums are slapping like the rest. Right on man. Keep the band strong

39:21 love little moments like this, a more light-hearted proggy bit thrown in Love this album's melodic nature, most "melodeath" isn't really melodic enough for my tastes but this scratches that itch

Man, I need to stop coming back to this album. I listen to it, then I get a song stuck in my head, but I don't remember which song it is, so I just listen to the whole album again the next day, and this process goes on for a few weeks...

Woah !

I've heard of Scar Symmetry, and might have listened to songs here and there in the past, but never paid much attention! What a mistake that was lol! The new album is amazing! It's been a while since I was so blown away by a new release! Everything is so well performed and just clicks together, regardless of the complexity of the songs (there's so many things going in the songs!), it just transitions from one part to the other effortlessly. And those leads, oh man the leads are fantastic! So tasty! After I listen to this album extensively, I have to go and listen to the previous records!
