I think we will always be hurt and disappointed by people. Its inevitable. Part of growing is learning to protect yourself set better standards and boundaries so that you can at the end of the day say you did try your best. I think true love is rare because I think people allow the evil in this world to overcome them instead of choosing a path that is right but also tough. Relationships are so hard and when it gets tough people get scared and choose destructive paths instead of taking on the hard work of looking at themselves and going through those growing pains with themselves and their partner.

@@Happygabby12345 they MIGHT. Also BPD is not an unsolvable issue. Just like Aids, you can take meds and try living a healthy lifestyle to limit its effects, it's not that you HAVE to be suicidal, the chances of you being suicidal is just a lot higher. Also everyone who gets suicidal during a breakup or any point in time seriously needs to go to a doc. Risk is part of love life, I agree. But I find it really hard to recognize if my inner voice is the wisdom of identifying a red flag, or just fear of getting hurt.

4 months ago I get to know this amazing guy and we decided to move forward and because it was a long distance relationship. A single dad with children. We shared the same values and priorities in life. I gave my all and sacrifice my time my sleeps, and due to distance I ensure that communication is strong and consistent. But as time pass by., I feel as I was the one making all the efforts and the sacrifices. I was frustrated. I was sad because I give my all to make things work. I was hurt, feeling unworthy and unwanted. I talked to him about it, about what i want but it felt on deaf ears. Finally I took the courage to let go. To stop contacting him. I thought that would make him think about thr whole thing and maybe he would reach out to me but well he went ghosting on me. It left me with a big dent bitter and hard to trust people again. Love is beautiful but it is not for the faint hearted.

I just got back into a relationship after one of..several nasty breakups. It's sad that I can't seem to get the same kind of security I offer to my partners, and so even now, I am afraid to trust in my current partner fully. This video did help a bit. Though somehow accepting that there is a risk makes me feel like I'm going to go through this relationship with a voice constantly telling me that something can go wrong and I'm not really sure how to cope with that.

You are right. I saw the red flags and my intuition was telling me many times to leave and I ignored it because I loved him and genuinely wanted the relationship to work. He wasn't right for me and we wanted different things and we're in different places in our lives and I'm learning and growing and I'm going to learn from this and I'm going to listen to my intuition next time. I finally allowed myself to love and let somebody in and it felt great. I'm not going to let this heart break that I'm going through prevent me from loving again. It does hurt really bad and I do believe that after I do the work on myself I will find somebody who is right for me. And now I know what I don't want in a man and I know what all of the red flags are and so I'm enjoying this journey of learning about myself. Don't let the heartbreak harden your heart because that person you were with was not right for you and there is a right person out there for you do the work heal move on and get yourself back out there because you deserve to be loved by the right person

I find a deal breaker in everyone and began to wonder if it's me. After 2 days of speaking to someone I had nice convos with I found that we r too different and gently cut him off but in reality I had a break down yesterday cried and anxiety I felt scared of rejection and idk what else. thanks for sharing this amazing video ... really loved it.. I m facing a problem lately.. which is kind of related to this subject matter.. I dated this guy whom I loved and was quite serious about the relationship... this guy when I met him appeared to b a really studious, honest and direct kind of person but the longer I stayed in relationship I realized who he really was... he was selfish... and a really highly competitive in a bad way.. I noticed these signs but I was so much in love that all these facts remained neglected by me even though thoughts kept popping up... soon he started avoiding me... and stopped calling me at all..if I called he would talk or else it was just texting that connected us.. it was frustrating ... I asked him to call me so that we can rebuild the connection that we had ...and that I miss our old connection.. but he never took any initiative to do what I wanted. soon he was so busy in his own world ..I was his gf but felt I don't exist in his world as his gf.. I felt friend zoned. when I gathered courage to ask him that do he really think of me as his gf anymore cause he has been acting to far away from me lately... his reply was that he only takes me as friend and I can't me more than that... I that point I felt so broken that this guy is telling me this when I am asking this.. I loved this guy once and now I really really HATE him for letting me down ... for not being man enough... to tell me about his feelings before and making me suffer for so long... if I never took the initiative of asking him surely he would have never told me until I make a move... he asked me that we can b friends ..I said yes at first cause I don't wanted it to look like a big deal to me... but as the days passed I could feel a lot of pain inside of me that he never felt... I was feeling like I m stuck and can't get out.. so finally I told him that I can't b friends with him anymore cause I m unable to move on....and guy laughed at my face saying that I must not react in such immature manner and must get over my feeling... and he never tried to understand my situation and wanted me to b his friend... but it was so difficult for me... I told him that I can't do it anymore I really don't have this capacity anymore ..and we stopped talking .. today the only way we are connected was fb id..in my friends list (however never talking or liking dp or any post of each other)... and if any thing related to him pops up ...just looking at it I could feel the hate for him.. I don't even know that it is hate or anger or irritation ..but what I know is something that this feeling is very negative ... all the selfish things he did to me now I can see them clearly when I m out of love for him.. may b I m just unable to forgive him for whatever wrong he had done to me... I don't know how to make myself feel neutral about him and through negativity away...

I really appreciate the videos you do Matt especially this one. I feel the way Carol from the example feels. I'm not saying you're wrong but the pain of a break-up doesn't make me grow as a person, I feel like it takes something out of me and/or becomes baggage that I can't get rid of. I've been divorced 1-1/2 years from a woman I loved dearly and I'm having a very difficult time getting past the hurt. I'm at the point now where I think it's just better for me not to get in a relationship at all anymore, even as much as I hate being lonely and love being with somebody, the pain is just not worth it.

I've been single for a year now and started living on my own, great opportunity at work and light friend time = more time to focus on self growth. Being with someone will definitely affect the balance we create in our life and the world we live in where things can easily break, it's not just risky, but the time you can't get back anymore is the worst. We gotta be okay with the idea that the right people/person will come along even without that much effort. Our lifestyle and personality should be enough as magnets to the future partner we may have. We all know though within ourselves that it's kinda not complete not having a partner but it still has lots of good sides to it. You pick which one is more important to you.

This is really helpful Matt. I do have a good question too. I also often feel like my picker is off too. I also think based on previous dates, that I scare men away. Either I am too up front, too direct, too emotional and perhaps too sensitive. What I am noticing is when can I no longer just buy into this idea that a women shouldn't lean in or should only lean back? When can I show my authentic self and bring that personality forward and see that, I bring forth me, I accept my idiosyncrasies, my quirks and still embrace me. I need to let go of the fact that some of these men have rejected me because I am too me. It can be very frustrating when I don't want to play games and some men do just that or they often have one agenda. I don't want to fall under the trap of thinking all men are this way. I know that isn't true. I want to believe that who I am now and today and what will it take for me to just attract the man I want. I find it interesting how my perspective could be blocking something. I hope this makes sense. I want to to trust myself and I want to be able to trust men again but it can be very challenging. I want to remain honest with myself and be in integrity when dating instead of just going along with things. I want to catch things right up front and be able to be honest with a man if they don't seem like a fit.

Ask God. I did and he showed me who. I think it's time ladies to show who's boss. If you want that man. We must fight for him. Show him that you are the only 1 that will treat him like he wants to be treated.talk more to him and demand that ring

For some of us its not that easy... The feeling of being in love sends me into a constant state of fear, anxiety and panic attacks due to feeling unsafe. Love for me is unsafe...even the thought of potential love does that to me... I can no longer handle it mentally or emotionally.

The thing that's really crushing me is the feeling that my own mistakes ruined the relationship with the girl I thought was perfect for me. And I still think she is, I still love her. The pain is killing me.

Me and my partner split up a fewer months back although it was neither either of our choice, we both decided to stay single and wait for each other as we knew we where meant to be. But in that gap he saw 2 girls in between although I knew I never let him know, he was still over pretty much everyday, but to cut a long story short I am scared to fall completely in love with him for the simple fact I could never go through that pain again, I never slept or ate for 2 month really, I do love him with every inch of my heart and more but for some reason everything just feels so strange and different, TIA x

+Mathew Boggs The thing is, he's dating that other girl but he doesn't know that I know about her. We aren't together or a couple because he doesn't “see anything further than a hookup”. In your opinion, do you think I should get a hold of her and tell her he's been cheating?

Can't say this will help me move on and heal. But it does confirm my suspicions. Short story, I hate conflicts and arguments with passion, and they always lead me feeling vulnerable and beaten down. And the shitty thing is my ex used that as "her" advantage. Even in odd times, "she" had a way of twisting my soul out of my chest, tearing off little pieces now and then, and leaving me fixing it up so "she" can tear them off again. But then again I can't blame "her" entirely. "She" was in an unstable state and I wasn't all perfect in this as well. I do my best to get better, but not with all the constant nagging, belittling and cold hearted words I've been receiving. It became to a point I had to end it and pick up all the pieces myself. Sooooo much happier now, but my trust in people in terms of mingling have greatly diminished. I just feel like one point in another, people just want to hurt you no matter how much they love you or how much they never meant to. Relationships in my perspective seem like all a play of dramatic themes and shit.

For me I got hurt quite a bit inside from my previous relationships intimate or otherwise . And for me just made it to work it's difficult to want to open up but these things to open up about what's going on trying to say anything because I'm afraid I might burdens someone else or I'm just speaking I'm not being heard

Hi Matt, I have a question. I agree with you like you said there is this 'intuition voice'. What do I do when in the beginning my bf says he doesn't know when he will get married due to financial issues and through the relationship we spoke about this again and he says to me that he will want to get married & have a family but he just can't promise me when? I do truly love this guy and he has important qualities I want in a guy and of course no one is perfect. I am however in a dilemma. Please help me.

I’m scared because o trusted my instincts that allowed me to date an abusive narcissistic. 3 years of breaking me down. What the hell was I thinking? He has me still on guard. I get a feeling of no trust right off the bat. When will this stop? I am so upset w myself. I can read people very well and I allow this man into my life and my children’s lives to be a liar and an abusive man abusive emotionally and mentally with me and physical with me one time I want to date and have fun but I just can’t trust
