I absolutely love this movie. You should check out the original 1932 version, also a classic in it's day.

Great hearing your thoughts on this iconic ending mate. Its absolutely pitch perfect for what Brian De Palma was going for imo...although in saying that, I'm actually a fan of the Scarface ps2 game as well. It starts from this moment before his demise and tells a what if story of him surviving this encounter lol.

First time I saw end of scarface I was shellshocked. It's utter pump everything up-to 22 is still remarkable and Tony's repellent reign and removal is done. Over the years I thought there a direct like (I don't mean a real link) but a movie DNA link of noodles and Tony (noodles from OUAT in America) as their respective trajectories similar. They both losing horses from the start they just unaware of it. Where Tony takes on the world Noodles grassies his friends and it costs him the last of his soul.. as for the shoot out Montana shows how utterly lost he is he stops pretending and knows he's finished. Great review as always Jim

Yeah another example of rooting for a deeply flawed protagonist.

scarface still a divisive movie looking at some of the other comments. It is cartoony and OTT think that a reason it so appreciated. The untouchables similar (however much more 'realistic' untouchables appears). Micheal Corleone, carlito brigante, noodles and max from OUATIA, all the movies they inhabit all movies are a touch unrealistic...cos they're make believe

The coke got to Tony in the end and it changed him and made him less sharp. He broke every rule at the start that Lopez warned him and it let to his downfall. Had he not gotten high off his own supply he would have never lost his mind and killed Manny and things would have been different. You can see Tony even regret what he did when killing Manny right before Sosas men attacked.

It’s a movie of 80s excess and the cartoony ending typifies this silliness.

I love scarface and love pachino, but I prefer a film with more depth and less over the top situations that could never happen, and films with characters who have more depth (for example Carlitos way is far more thought provoking) but scarface is great enjoyment for a teenage boy who has lots of testosterone and a not much maturity and even a adult man with intelligence can still enjoy this great film
