Scarlet Witch and Vision are a couple I just wanna be happy for, because writers love ruining their relationship and chance at a family. As of right now, they aren't together, Vision is distant from Wanda, Wanda is seen as "The Great Pretender" a monster to mutantkind in Krakoa. Once WandaVision does better then expected, maybe Marvel can repair their strained relationship. (Oh yeah, We had the best Scarlet Witch in Wolverine and the X-Men and Vision in Avengers EMH, and they were both set in the same universe, but they never met because of cancellation... WE COULD'VE HAD IT ALLLLL!!!)

I read with interest Sasha's mini series House Of LL where Wanda learns that her birth name is Lois Lane and goes on an interdimensional marriage spree . Yes! The Axis retcon apparently disregarded the fact that Bova recalled Wanda and Pietro's birth, that Pietro was identified as a mutant by a Sentinel, and a million other established parts of continuity. Fix it, Marvel!

I always love Sasha's reviews, and particularly this one, as Vision & the Scarlet Witch #1 was the very first comic I bought with my own money (and the miniseries was the first time I read an entire run of a comic from start to finish). This series has some great moments. In the first issue, the line of one of the possess children - "Trick or treat, inhuman scum! Prepare to perish on this night of power!" - always struck me as hilarious. But an issue #2, the Vision has the most badass moment of his career when he cuts off his own mangled arm in the middle of a battle because it was in his damn way of saving his wife. And the narration makes it clear that he is NOT an emotionless android. Keep up the great comics chatting, Sasha!

Main thing I remember about the Vision Quest storyline is a quote from John Byrne about it afterwards. I think it went something like "when i first heard they'd gotten married, my reaction was 'she's married a toaster!' " He was *not* a fan of the relationship.

Vizh and Wanda were my first ship, and Byrne shall always be the devil to me. As for the first V&SW series, it was a great read with so many little shocking moments... Vision burning off his own arm (back when Marvel writers weren't all "Hey, we can maim and kill the robot all we like and it's no big deal"), and that Magneto issue (with Bova! "Warn the children!") Good, weird stuff. Loved it.

I didn't care for Visionquest, but I liked his new costume he got from that story arc. Unfortunately, as time went on, artists added pale yellow to the costume, as a form of 'shading'. During the metallic alt cover issues in the early '90s, Vision was able to be downloaded into an alternate (evil!) future synthezoid body which looked like the mix of his traditional colours (red skin, green and yellow costume) with the current costume pattern with a few tweaks. He also regained the ability to feel emotions, though he still did not have Simon Williams' (aka Wonder Man) 'brain engrams'.

One, for me, the greatest moments in Marvel Comics is when Magneto learns his grand-daughter (Pietro and Crystal's child) is not a Mutant (which is where I think Magneto truly begins his "heel-turn"), and Lockjaw (speaks) (not to say "woof") and we learn he was once a man. (Terrigen Mists) So for me (Comic reader since 60's) I hate the ret-cons. For me Magneto is Wanda and Pietro's father, Vision and Wanda knew love, and should still be married. (With "construct" children.) And yes, I'm still unhappy about Pietro being killed off in the MCU. As always, thank you so very much for you video.

You should check out Major Grom. It's a Russian comic book series that ran from 2012-2015, but I don't know if it was released in English. It is REALLY good, and I literally only learned Russian to read this series. The movie was great and the sequel is coming out in April.

The classic Vision and Scarlet Witch series was a favorite of mine - despite the confusing origins of both characters they worked together, as a couple, and that series framed their family and its confusing connotations in many ways. The later retcon Vision Quest was not a good idea, but it was done by the same writer who planted the seeds for Wanda's own mental instability that other writers would build on and exploit later - though at that time it seemed she and Quicksilver were drawing straws for who would be borderline evil that week. Magneto being revealed as the father worked, and added depth to her character and his, and although it's currently been retconned for silly corporate reasons, it's very easy to retcon back - the High Evolutionary said they weren't mutants - the same High Evolutionary who said Spider Woman was an actual spider, then she wasn't, then she was a Hydra experiment by her father, or maybe not...he doesn't have a good track record on his revelations, accuracy, or honesty. I don't recall that Wanda and Vision were ever legally divorced, but then again their wedding was officiated by a future incarnation of Kang named Immortus who was the lord of time and limbo, so I'm not sure who they would even have to go to for a divorce on that level - though Vision was more or less dead a few times, I'm not sure that would be valid enough grounds in the Marvel Universe where that seems to happen every second Thursday.

John Byrne's virulent hatred of AI in general and Vision as a "Toaster" dealt incredible damage to the Marvel universe, that was slowly repaired... Only for Brian Michael Bendis who grew up enjoying Byrne's stuff to use it as an excuse to undo all those repairs and smash the wider Marvel universe wide open. (Also that one guy who writes the Young Avenggers and seems to delight in the overly complicated background for Wiccan and his brother)

I jut stopped by here while waiting for episode 4 to drop. I simply love the artwork from that period. I didn't know the characters well but they certainly looked the best in those panels. Retcon? Backstory? I didn't know any of it but I believe I may have actually owned that series. It's the kind of thing I would look for, especially if it was as visually entertaining as that. (I lost all track of my collection in July '93 when I moved to California for twenty years.) I had heard great things about the X-Men so I finally bought an issue, the one where Cyclops is heading on down the road after the death of Jean Grey. I then spent the next couple of months and no small amount of cash buying up back-issues to find out about this "Jean Grey." She became my very favorite comic book hero. I was buying comics very regularly by then, through the Secret Wars and the Second Secret Wars, but when they tried to tell me that Jean Grey hadn't _really_ died I was completely fed up. I quit Marvel entirely and focused on Cerebus who was just coming into his own at the time.

I never realized that they were a couple in the comics. I thought they gave them a scene together in Avengers 2 to grow each character and saw that they had cchemistry. As they did with Black Widow and Hulk.

Then it should be spelled differently! I hate that Gaelic nonsense, where Sian is pronounced "Shawn," Siobian is somehow "Sha-vawn," and Jomahnie is "Bob!" That last one may not be true. 😉
