@MrDjdecks6 жыл бұрын
Where is your evidence?
@JazGalaxy6 жыл бұрын
Lucas Lucas no. Just... no. Resident Evil is a wholesale ripoff of Infogrames’ “Alone In The Dark”. Where Silent Hill is just another scary game like Resident Evil, Resident Evil rips off whole scenes and basic game design from Alone In The Dark. 3rd person fixed camera game with “tank controls”? Alone In The Dark. Explore a mansion where you can’t leave through the front door or else you die? Alone In The Dark. The second big scare of the game is a dogs jumping through the window after the camera changes to an external camera like you’re being watched? Alone In The Dark. Pick between two lead characters, a man or a woman with adjusted difficulty? Alone In The Dark. First person journal entries where the writer slowly loses his mind? Alone In The Dark. If console gamers were more familiar with PC games in the mid nineties, Resident Evil wouldn’t get HALF of the accolades it gets. It’s a bigger budget, but less intelligent, version of another game that came before it,
@BATCHARRO6 жыл бұрын
To be fair, some of the team that made RE7 came from Silent Hill demo thing that got cancelled. It's not so much a ripoff as it is them doing more or less what they where gonna do but in another franchise.

Enemy Zero by Kenji Eno / Warp is a first persons 3d survival horror game that really freaked me out. It has a lot of prerendered cutscenes that were top notch for its time. I am quite surprised that it did not make it into this episode. Maybe it has been covered before and I do not remember? Anyways, you are on a huge space station in outer space and you need to escape, because things went wrong and there are lots of aliens running around the station suddenly. You can kill them with your weak gun, but there is a big catch: Enemies are completely invisible in this game and very deadly! To target them you have to rely on your ears alone. It works a bit like the beeping sounds from the movie Aliens which everyone should know about. The pitch and frequency of the beeping sounds will change depending on where the aliens are located to you. This system will force you to turn up the volume on your tv to hear everything well enough and that will make the acustics even more intense and hectical. What's even worse is that you only have limited ammo at any point and you need to slowly charge up every single shot before can fire your gun. One missed shot might mean instant death to you, so better wait until it's really close before you pull the trigger! Thankfully there is a tutorial on disc one that will teach you everything you need to know. Another beauty of Enemy Zero is the save system.Your saving device (again) has a limited charge depending on the chosen difficulty, but there is no recharging here. Everytime single time you save or load a game the battery of your device will lose some of its power, so you have to think twice before saving, and dying will feel very painfull as a result, which adds yet another layer of fear into the mix. The game was meant to be released exclusively for the PSX, but then development shifted to the Saturn. If I remember correctly, Kenji Eno was not too happy when Sony was not willing to press enough copies of "D" for the PSX when Warp had lots preorders already. There is also a pc version of Enemy Zero available, but I am not sure if it will run on a modern machine without any help of dosbox or virtual machine. This game is absolutely worth playing if survival horror is your thing, even if it might look dated by now.
