Some of those scratches seem to be on a vital blood vessel though. Most humans still have a piece of excess “padding” that covers it (its a slowly disappearing trait since most people aren’t fighting off predators on a daily basis). You can check if you have the extra padding by putting your thumb and pinky fingers together then bending your hand towards your wrist, if you have it, you’ll see a prominent “bulge” where the padding is. So I guess it makes sense that the animal is targeting weak spots

For example, let’s say I accidentally cut myself with a scalpel during an embalming. Scalpel cuts carry the associated risk of acquiring various kinds of viral and bacterial infections from contagious body fluids and soft tissues of the cadavers. Also, you want to make sure you’re using a sharp one each time! A blunt scalpel is likely to snag and slip, causing a greater chance of an injury occurring. Also, we want the cuts on the cadaver to be clean so that we are able to suture them in a way to where we can easily hide the cuts for a viewing. I hope this helps!

As someone who has embalmed a body this is pretty accurate. Generally the deceased would not be wearing clothing during the blood draining but I’m assuming the game doesn’t want to show nudity. A few steps have been omitted here, like cleaning the body, shaving if requested by the family, etc. also the main character isn’t wearing any ppe, thats a health code violation

It was so easy for me to casually work in an environment like this, and you honestly have to have a passion for helping others in this type of way. Its a call to service not many can handle. I laid infants in caskets, saw results of serious trauma, and casketed my own grandfather. Those in the field sorta 'embrace' it rather than run away from it.

As a mortuary student, I can say that yes, we do use that much. One gallon of embalming fluid is needed per fifty pounds of body weight. Also, there are various kinds of embalming fluids. There are different ones for various causes of death (an example of one being jaundibalm, which doesn’t have the red dyes in fluids that you’d use on a regular cadaver since it would turn them green)! There are also different levels of formaldehyde content (depending on what stage of decomposition the body is in, you’d either use a lower or higher index) and sometimes you have to mix certain ones together because certain fluids don’t continue to move throughout the arteries and will stay in one part of the body, so we have to mix fluids that do move so the fluid will reach the entirety of the cadaver! Sorry if this is a lot, but I hope it helps!!

Nah, it is possible to burn the right body. Charlie just got it wrong his first attempt. The game likes to keep count how many times you got possessed and how many times you burned the body correctly as a scoring system. Anyways, the game is about doing the attempts over and over and rng will have you witness different events every time until you get the full picture. That and paying attention to extra stuff in the environment like finding extra keys for locked doors and stuff. Edit: I didn’t watch the whole vid, so I thought he was just gonna leave it at his first attempt. Charlie did get one of the good endings, the other endings are the same result only to talk to Raymond about some of the discoveries you made if you go out of your way to look for them

Charlie, this is in fact a portion of the standard embalming process. It is super labor and resource intensive (much more than ingame), even though freezing before a funeral is much easier and cheaper, and is just as safe. It was invented during the civil war when they had to ship bodies home to families, and had to preserve them for the funeral. Once the war ended, embalming companies distributed a ton of false news about dead bodies being a huge infection risk to the living so they could continue to sell their now obsolete services. Scalpels also get dull really fast but are super sharp.
