To all the people who performed on this track, very nicely done! I grew up rocking to the Wrecking Crew as a child in the 60's and 70's. This performance is 100% on the mark. Every nuance of everyone's effort shines and shimmers in glorious ear candy. The singing is absolutely beautiful, the sound engineering is immaculate, each instrumentalist is gathering nectar from heaven and distilling it into my ears. I avoided the original Hanson version when it bubble-gum-popped on the scene. (Hanson was a hit with my kids.) Now I hear excellent lyrics delivering a positive and uplifting message. Like much of the Scary Pockets repertoire, this tune is glorious. Commercial radio is running so far behind! Corporate think tanks? Focus groups gathering public opinion? Get real.

I was entering middle age when the original of this song was a hit. I was astounded that three children could write a song with these deep features. The song was an international hit and there was much blowback, my guess mostly fueled by jealousy or perhaps misunderstanding. I have always thought that this song could really use a cover by some adults. Wow is this a great one. Great job, and I feel privileged to witness this performance of a great pop song.
@davidskidmore34422 жыл бұрын
Blowback was largely due to the high voices and long hair on the boys, combined with a generally poor enunciation in the verses, so the clearest part of the original song is the nonsense chorus. It was also played a LOT, so people got sick of the nonsense chorus. This modern rendition has vastly better vocals, you can hear the lyrics in the verses and get how deep they really are. I've played and re-played this version so many times.
