The Language used in Hadith isn’t divine within itself like the Quran is since we believe the Quran to be the actual speech of god. The Hadith are not necessarily as formal I would say, they are like narrations written About the prophet and his companions by men. Not to say they aren’t valuable because they certainly are, but some aren’t preserved while others are. Quran is 100% preserved

The Quran does say to follow the prophet, but the job of narrating his sayings is delegated to Hadith. Does that help answer your question? I can take another crack at it if not

If it's word for word what he said, then did he speak differently when just talking to people compared to when giving a revelation? In order words, would people have known the difference between when he was just talking and when he was revealing a revelation ( from a linguistic standpoint)?

@@markorbit4752 That is a great question and a good point. It was abundantly clear when he was sharing a revelation from Allah vs when he was speaking as himself. I'll give you an example of how we know that. The entirety of the Quran was written in the lifetime of the prophet, and when muslims pray they recite the Quran. If someone accidentally misconstrued words from Muhammad PBUH, and words from Allah, that would have surely been corrected. As for the question of whether it was word for word, I think the strongest Hadiths absolutely yes they were word for word. However, there are a number of Hadiths which have a weak chain of authenticity and we take those lightly, especially if they contradict the fundamentals. There are however Hadith which can be authenticated with very short chains of narration within the lifetime of the prophet. Hope that helps!

@@somalisoul3504 1- There are only two sources of Deen - Quran and Sunnah. Hadith is a historical record and it should be kept in that perspective. It is no doubt an invaluable resource but it's neither an independent souce of Deen nor should be used to understand the Quran (more on this later in point 3) 2- Transmission of hadith is not the same as transmission of Quran and sunnah. The latter have been transmitted through the consensus of the whole of muslim community at large (ijma and tawatur). 3- All hadith must be understood in the light of Quran and not the other way around. Sadly muslims today seem to be doing the opposite. The Quran is God's word and it stands on its own. If any hadith goes against the Qur'an we cannot accept it. For example, today most of the muslims consider keeping dogs as haram because they say it's mentioned in a hadith that dogs are haram. But in Quran Allah says that the prey caught by your hunting dogs are halal for you to eat. Based on this Quran verse we can say that keeping dogs cannot be haram and this hadith is not reliable. There are many more such examples but I can't list all here 4- The things he mentioned in the video - that Hajj and Salah etc come from hadith. This is incorrect. They don't come from hadith. People knew what Hajj and Salah is earlier. There were people (a small number though) who were doing Hajj and performing salah even before prophet pbuh started his mission. This is because Islam is not a new religion. It's a continuation of the same religion given to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jesus - All of them performed these things and they were revived by the last prophet Muhammad pbuh. 5- The emphasis on hadith today is something which cannot be seen in the very early scholars of Islam. Most of them did not even feel the need to collect so much. If you read the earliest collections before Imam Bukhari and others, you will not find many hadith which we today find in Imam Bukhari collection. There are many hadith which were accepted by later scholars but rejected by the earlier ones. Does this mean those earlier scholars did not know what later scholars did ? Or that somehow decades later people could somehow verify hadith better ? You would expect that over time the hadith collection would become more refined and therefore smaller but the opposite happened. The collection has grown in size. 6- You would see people say if a hadith is mutwatir so it must be true. This is something which is causing a lot of problems today and muslims need to understand it. Some scholars today are doing really good work on hadith. Hopefully people will start to put things into perspective and put the Quran above everything else.

If this dudes "opinion" is it clearly refers to the hadith, then he has created a huge problem, 1 that the quran then does not become self evident, its not what should be used to explain gods words, that this street spruker places more credibility on the hadith than the quran to explain and give gods words to people ! That's the first problem. The 2nd problem is, if it "clearly" states the hadith are what's being referred to, then it stands that all hadith are applicable, yes ?
