@tylerharris6892 Even in '01-'02 (this movie came out in Summer 2002) 3500 yards in a 16-game season (219 ypg) was more likely to get you cut than give you the leverage to barge into the owner's non-football corporate meeting without fear of repercussions.

Boozy Frosty shots 1 3 oz box of chocolate flavored pudding mix 1 cup of milk 1 cup of whipped cream flavored vodka chilled 8 oz of Cool Whip thawed Mix the milk, vodka, and pudding mix together. Fold in the cool whip until it is all mixed together and then spoon into 2oz cups and put in the fridge to setup. Tastes just like a frosty and fairly close to the same consistency.

This arguement always comes to mind when sports players have a good season and want a big payday, but when they don't play well and dont get offered tje money they think they're worth, they get all pissy lol Well I figured if I played better I could renegotiate and get more money If you didnt play well could *we* renegotiate and pay you less? SHIT NO

Except in the NFL the contracts aren't guaranteed, and if you don't play well they can just cut you. I'm really not sure what point you're trying to make when the team owners have most of the power. You don't like your contract and we won't extend? I can just take another year of your prime by designating you a franchise player. Keep in mind the average career of an NFL player is barely 3 years.

Funny thing is that in the NFL teams can renegotiate a player's contract if someone's playing poorly and pay them less, or cut someone and then then get less than the full amount in their contract. Plus a star QB getting cut would just start a bidding war where he'd get the money he wanted. It works in the movie, but it's pretty far off reality
@willcardona7712
@willcardona7712 3 ай бұрын
All that might be true. But then the people bidding for him have to decide if his performance on the field is worth all the attitude problems they're going to get from him. Unless he's great (not ok, not good, but great) on the field, many owners and coaches decide that it's just not worth the trouble.

I always found it so cringe and embarrassing when Adam Sandler would punch out some tough guy who'd actually reck him in real life. I can suspend my disbelief and love action heroes but Sandler's weird fantasy of being a super nice guy who gets the super hot girl and knocks out people who are two times bigger than him. Mr Deeds comes across like a creepy psycho with deep rooted need to hurt people, like beating up the fake mugger, if he just shoved him into the trash cans and defended himself but the way he starts awkwardly punching him, they had to sub in "funny" dialog cause it went on for too long and without dialog it just looked like odd, they act like hes really beating up a real mugger who beat up an old lady. Then he punches out this football player with this fake niceguy attitude that makes him seem passive aggressive instead of an underdog with principles. Then he beats up the 3 rich bullies in the restaurant which made the most sense since they were outright humiliating him, plus the Mr French Opera singer was hilarious and added a lot of physical comedy to the bit. I think he punches out a few others in comedies at the time, idk why he was obsessed with coming across like a tough guy back then but it was lame and made him seem like he was preoccupied with obtaining a tough guy underdog image. Anyways rant over, Adam Sandler is the Mark Wahlberg of comedies, same role every movie, brainless and witless comedy/action, boring writing, lame directing, and obviously just a soulless job meant for a paycheck, plus product placement, they'd have Coca Cola branded insulin if it meant $70,000. But still NO DADDDY NOOOOOOO is one of the greatest moments in history. Along with John Macinroe randomly jumping 16 feet over a taxi "WOÀHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" and smoothly lands like he's got Captain America Serum.

Uh sure.....being a football player doesn't make you invincible. A person on the street can punch harder than a sports star and just because you play sports doesn't mean you know or can take a punch. It's like street fighting versus martial arts. Besides that the ball player wasn't expecting a punch and deeds had the conviction and enough anger due to the language that I'm sure it wasn't a matter of how hard he hit but the sting of the punch that sent him back. Go touch some grass then come back.
@TheStapleGunKid
@TheStapleGunKid Жыл бұрын
@@wookieninja8794 It's not that Deeds was able to land a punch, that's not the issue. The issue is that the guy is just scared of him and acts like Deeds could easily beat him up in a fair fight. It just makes no sense. This is a guy who can endure getting blindsided by a 250 pound linebacker charging at full sprint, but he's scared of a regular guy who punches him one time? No he'd just snap right back up like it was nothing and beat the crap out of deeds.
@wookieninja8794
@wookieninja8794 Жыл бұрын
@@TheStapleGunKid shows you've never been in a fight or on the streets. In football you have a level of protection with the pads. Here he doesn't so he gets the full force. Then deeds showed that he would act without hesitation but would be fair. That is where his fear stems from. Again just because you play sports doesn't mean you are some bad type of warrior. I was in the military and some of the worst guys to fight against was the smaller guys. They are quick and their muscles tend to be rock solid even if they don't have mass. Plus he was punched in the face which has no protection and hurts like hell. Like I said go outside. Learn something then come back. Also it's a movie don't take it seriously.
@TheStapleGunKid
@TheStapleGunKid Жыл бұрын
@@wookieninja8794 Even with protective gear on, a charging pro football linebacker or defensive tackle is still going to hit a lot harder than a regular guy's fist. Yes being a pro football quarterback doesn't make you Bruce Lee or Mike Tyson, but it does make you more than a match for a regular guy in regular shape or who has no boxing or martial arts training. Yes I know it's just a movie. That doesn't mean I can't comment on dumb scenes that reduce the movie's quality.
