Honestly, I have not tried connecting my iPhone, but conceptually it should work. But you need to make sure that your car supports wired CarPlay

If you make a video then do it correctly and read the manual. You're not supposed to use the USB of the ottocast to power the tv stick. That is for firmware update only. It cant produce enough power, even if it worked it might die. You have to use a separate usb to power the stick.

You are correct, my apologies. Its better to connect the TV stick with another USB slot in the car for power.

All these Ottocast devices, like this one, have a sound problem. I ordered two different kinds from Ottocast, and the sound keeps muting every few minutes. I wouldn't buy them if I were you. Plus, when the GPS talks through the speaker, it crackles and pops.

Is there any input delay or framerate issues? I'm wanting to possibly get this to plug in an Xbox, but if there is a noticeable amount of input delay or drops in framerate then this may not be the best option. Also would this work on an aftermarket stereo that has wired Apple CarPlay?

You are right, we should've shown the WIFI connection in the video. Basically, this device is just a video output adapter, so when you connect a device with it like a TV Stick or Android Box, you need to connect that device with your mobile's hotspot for internet access.
