Schilke HC1 Trumpet in gold plate from my collection! Is this the modern Martin Committee?

You are a musician first and I know dam well you are not going to play only Adams trumpets. The first sexy horn to come around and you will change your mind!!!I😂 I love the quality and sound of all that Adam’s horns you demo!! Right now I play a Burbank Benge and I am looking to buy a Committee type horn. I was set on an Adams A9 large bore. You just made it difficult because that Schilke you just demonstrated sounded beautiful. I will come out this summer and try some horns. Thank you for posting all of the videos it’s an awesome hearing the sound qualities of the different horns.

Your love and passion for playing still shines through. A common theme I've heard from professional musicians is it becomes a job, with no time for enjoyment. You are surrounded by all things trumpet 24/7, gig regularly, have every conceivable type of gear at your disposal yet still get that excited grin. They say if you find a way to make money doing what you love, you never work a day. You are a lucky man, not to discount the million and one headaches that are part of running a business, probably need to do a video of a day doing taxes or inventory to bring it back to reality.

oh man this speaks to me... deep in bookkeeping currently! That's the stuff that keeps me up at night. Stressful beyond words but there are some fringe benefits (like having awesome inventory to play with all the time). Best regards from KC!

I first tried an early demo of those horns (Wallace’s) and I was sold on it. But then came out I tried a bunch of both HC1 /HC2 over the course of a year, but they never lived up to it. I had A9 large bore for while but I think I prefer the medium bore Martin’s. At least now.

I play an HC2 and will say that its pretty amazing what you can "get away" with on these horns in terms of different styles with the right mouthpiece. I agree with Trent's review of these horns. I have gotten away doing a lead gig....if I was a "lead" player all the time I would switch this out for a lead horn but if you just need to survive a lead style gig here and there this is a great option still because of the versatility. I will say because of the bell throat flare it may cause you to have to either buy new mutes or recork your existing mutes a little thicker for them to hold/fit correctly in the horn! Love Schilke....love my HC2

....I have to say, that's the BEST Schilke Bb horn I've Ever heard...hands down! I've heard a lot of Schilkes, but frankly Wasn't impressed 😕. That horn you have is Amazing ‼️

Trent just a quick question… when you say Double Gold plate is the instrument silver plated then gold plated and then another layer of gold? Also do Anderson still do Schilke’s plating or is it in house now?.. thanks.

Anderson still does all the Schilke plating I think. Don't quote me on that. The horn is definitely in this case silver plated and then double gold plated
