If Nuclear Bombs Drop On Germany - Ted Postol to the International Peace Coalition

Schiller Institute

Күн бұрын

Dr. Ted Postol, MIT Professor Emeritus and one of the world’s leading experts on nuclear weapons, addresses the International Peace Coalition meeting September 13, 2024.
What has caused an obscure French-based publication, Intelligence Online, to suddenly not only attack the Schiller Institute, but also to call for the U.S. Department of Justice to “shut Schiller up,” and down? Was it something Schiller said? Not exactly, but close.
The Schiller Institute’s Sept. 3 publication of Ambassador Jack Matlock’s truthful assessment of the absurdity of current United States foreign and (self-defeating) military policy toward Russia, China and Southwest Asia-which, as of March of this year, includes a commitment to a three-front nuclear war against Russia, China and North Korea-is now being picked up by other news outlets. This has caused a small earthquake among the once-competent “elites” of the trans-Atlantic, who, unlike the “children of Madeleine Albright”-Antony Blinken, Victoria Nuland, Samantha Power et al.,-know that what Jack Matlock has said, is true. Matlock was President Ronald Reagan’s Ambassador to the Soviet Union from 1987 to 1991, and a true witness to, participant in and shaper of our current history, a different breed than today’s “junior varsity” at the State Department.
“It seems to me that it is extremely dangerous to attempt what is, in effect, an undeclared war against a nuclear armed power, which perceives, rightly or wrongly, that its sovereignty and even its political existence are being threatened,” Sputnik reported Matlock saying from his Sept. 3 interview. Matlock remarked days later, at the Sept. 6 meeting of the International Peace Coalition, that “I think what we need to understand is that the expansion of NATO, and particularly the bases-and in this case, it was the bases that were planned in Poland and Romania for anti-ballistic missiles. It turned out that, although these were defensive weapons, they could easily be converted to offensive weapons. So, it was understandable that the Russian leader (Putin) would be quite opposed. And yet, we went ahead, and after progressively withdrawing from virtually every arms control agreement that we had negotiated in the 1980s and early ‘90s, we began to try to influence the Ukrainian government and offer NATO membership. So I think that this was a complete reversal of the diplomacy we used in the Cold War.…”
What, however, if the whole chessboard is simply turned over? What if voices of reason, like that of Jack Matlock, or Veterans Intelligence Professionals for Sanity co-founder Ray McGovern, or Col. Larry Wilkerson of the Eisenhower Media Network, are successfully amplified and heard in the United States, echoed by similar voices in Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and many other nations? That is the process that is now happening through the International Peace Coalition. It is the precondition for real Socratic dialogue about a new security and development architecture.
It is Helga Zepp-LaRouche and the Schiller Institute’s proposed Ten Principles for a New International Strategic and Development Architecture that do, in fact, take the interests of all into account. The possibility that the Institute’s proposal might successfully catalyze a “Council of Reason” among trans-Atlantic nations, that would overthrow the “mad dogs and Englishmen” that are provoking nuclear war, has spooked the NATO thought-police. They have released, through the outfit called Intelligence Online, a story, “United States Washington-based non-profit continues spreading Kremlin message,” which begins, “The Schiller Institute has continued to cooperate with Russian media outlets, even while the U.S. cracks down on foreign influence.” While this is the same tactic used in the 1982 activation of the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB) against economist, statesman and Schiller Institute co-founder Lyndon LaRouche, there is a difference.

The once great nation of the United states of America has been hijacked by a small minority who are poisoning your nation from the day they are born. The poisoning your nation by being one of the most drug dependant nations in the world. They're poisoning your nation with Hollywood with music, with propaganda with poor education with promotion of infidelity sex drugs... The United states have been taken over and the best example of this is the division amongst the people. If only 10 years ago you were to say that people in America would be divided. So much people would laugh in your face. I actually visited California in 2013 and I've mentioned these things to one of my American friends. He just looked at me in the face and laughed and said, that will never happen. The best way to destroy a great powerful Nation. He's not from the outside but from within.

You have to take into account flooding. Depth of oceanic floor is 3600 meters, and depth of continental shielf is around 400 meters, that means waves could be as big as couple of kilometers. Waves can not be 3200 meters, because water has weight to it, but 1000 meters, 2000 meters, is a possibility. We have large nukes on the bottom of the oceanic floor, 2M39 poseidon, 150 to 500 megatones. Primary effect though is seismic, water layer is removed, then pressures on crust, which is thin at the bottom of the ocean, cause massive quakes, which cause water displacement. Large waves happen when water hits continental shielf. It is needed to remove all value targets near coast, and then hit in land with nukes. Germany might be affected as well. France, Belgium. England is gone. Most likely you will be dealing with big waves before dealing with nuclear barrage.

The possibility of Russia launching a nuclear attack on Ukraine is not likely for 2 main reasons. Despite the war between Ukraine and Russia and the anti-Russian, nationalistic faction currently in charge of the government, does not represent the majority of the population. Ukraine and Russia are not bitter enemies. Ukrainian is a fully integrated ethnic minority within Russia with mixed marriages throughout Russia. The second reason is that if Russia would wants to establish a post-war relationship with Ukraine, they would be called upon to help clean up the mess caused by nuclear weapons. It is my belief that they have no intention of doing this. The danger posed by Russia is not the nukeing Ukraine, but to NATO missile bases outside of Ukraine. ”Once that is done, “All bets are off” When a nation hosts nuclear weapons, they make themselves a target...

It will be a thermonuclear bomb [not a nuclear bomb ] which is hundreds or thousands of times more powerful than atomic bombs. While the force of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were measured in kilotons (one thousand tons) of TNT, the force of thermonuclear bombs is measured in megatons (a million tons). In 1962 detonation of a 1.4-megaton device 250 miles above the Pacific Ocean. The U.S. test created a geomagnetic storm that destroyed satellites. Russia is working on such a weapon which will destroy systems used for communication, transportation, meteorology and financial transactions. This means cell phone calls, internet etc will be disabled including intercountry banking which will mean no ATMs or Swift working so countries communications will be in chaos. It makes sense to blow the air waves first......

Please check the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists website to learn about modern stockpiles. Accurate targeting, much, much smaller warheads on MIRVs, from 300 to 800 kt max each warhead. The old 90s era 3 or 4 megaton warheads are being retired from US arsenal. Russia has already retired theirs. China has a few. Princeton physicists estimate an all out exchange between Russia and NATO targeting population centers would result in less than 100 million dead and injured. There is no more MAD deterrence. We're on a slippery slope with very, very useable nuclear warheads that the sadists in charge talk about using like it's business as usual.

The use of nuclear weapons in the Ukraine conflict, or anywhere else, would mark humanity's ultimate failure. It's not just about politicians; it's about us-the people-failing to see how we're being manipulated into turning against one another for the gain of a few. Such an escalation would benefit no one but those who profit from division and destruction. The devastating impact would be global, deepening divides and fueling violence for generations. We must recognize our shared humanity, or we risk losing everything.

Awesome video.Could you make a project on this please if that would happen on UK and one for US. People need to realise that in a real WW3 Szenario, those locations are gonners too. This is not going to be like WW2 where certain war participants sit somewhere "far away" watching while having their BigMac or Fish,nChips! Hypersonic weapons mean 5min from Russia to London, 4 min to Paris. 3min to Ramstein.2.5min to Berlin. For US is even shorter times. According to my calculations. A Nuklear sub parkt 300 km away from US coast would take 40 seconds to reach New York. We have to really promote more the reality of " Unity in Diversity" on this beautiful planet and stop any form of wars. Interestingly the same beautiful young people who campaigned for the stop of Vietnam are still doing the same thing now as old and bold people , but the spirit for Universal Peace will never die, to our last breath, here and in world's to come. Blessings to you and your family for your efforts. 🙏❤️☀️

Thanks Professor Postol. I am a scientist and technologist, and what you say seems technically plausible according to what I know. ie. I commend this as a dispassionate explanation underpinning the choices the German people must make for their potential future or absence of one Note that the weapons you would be hosting would have about the same horrendous effect. Note the number-one priority of the Russian government is to protect the Russian people - you would entirely identify with this. Bringing these weapons onto your (German) territory would be an act of war, and you would have no recourse were the consequences your annihilation before they can get to their deployment positions. There are universally held values always held valid - which would not be transgressed because of the choices you made if you agree to accept these weapons and they are on their way. The Russian authorities have made only one active move - preventing foreign 3rd-party nuclear weapons on its borders. The second will fulfill identically the same purpose - when Germany is "carpet-bombed" in a strike to prevent the manoeuvre to an attacking position. The rest of the world will pop bubblegum and make dismissive summaries when Germany plaintively claims it has been wronged in the aftermath. I leave you in Germany with your choice(s) you must make. Regards

I agree with you. I'm so tired of the mindless superlatives people speak about nuclear weapons with because they're too lazy to do a little research. Unfortunately, the danger is greater than ever precisely because there is no mutual assured destruction deterrent with modern arsenals of smaller warheads. But Democrats continue to regard weapons that were designed to be used as if they are a deterrent. I don't think they understand things that require just a bit of logic.

During the Cold War period more people (though still far from enough) had at least a rudimentary understanding of these issues. Now, after 1-2 generations of people who have been blessed never to have had much occasion to think about the implications of open military conflict between highly sophisticated nuclear-armed Great Powers, it‘s critical that experts like MIT physicist & nuclear arms expert Prof. Pistol engage in remedial training as in this clip, at the same time sounding the alarm with respect to the consequences that such conflicts are highly likely to entail. NB Pseudo-experts - in reality fool hacks - like Gen. Domröse who claim that the U.S. missiles to be deployed in Germany in the coming years will be conventional, not nuclear are simply deceiving the public. First, there will be no way to ensure that this is the case. Second, even if it were, Russian nuclear doctrine authorizes the use of nuclear weapons - tactical or strategic - in the case of threats to the stability and continuity of the Russian state. The U.S. missiles that are to be stationed in Germany will be capable of attempting a decapitation strike on Russia‘s political and military leadership, and thus by definition they constitute such a threat.

USA pushes the envelope BUT it's NOT even USA pushing the envelope! It's the Z BOYS: more and more. Notice how this all ACCELARATED QUICKLY after Russian-Iranian cooperation. Iran has been the prize for the Grifting-Pirates known as the Rote-schilds and their "TEAMSTERS", they thought they could build an army in a Captured Ukraine for 10 years and take on Russia in her backyard...well. GREED has and will always be a net impact destroyer its just a question of time before the story-arc completes its voyage. I don't think for an IOTA that anything will change UNTIL the USA collapses once that happens the whole house of PAPER MACHE cards comes tumbling down. The Puppet Masters know that, hence the acceleration, they prefer death and destruction of the "minions" whilst they are safe in Mount Weatherall. What is the same is the manipulation of "common folk" to follow a destructive agenda. financed by public debt, to create and defend private asset growth. Again:- everything that holds a spark of TRUTH becomes dustful-Deceit, when Hu-mans get their sticky fingers on it, including ALL religious texts.
