Excellent!! Couldn't agree more.

Wow, thank you Penzy, it sounds so much more compelling when SP Dude says it- hopefully others find it so, and we can begin to deal with personality adaptations from a more holistic perspective. There's so much more to learn behind the schizoid defense and the "disorder" label.😊

Don, your creation of the term and definition for 'Clusterf*ck' served as the key inspiration for SPDude's presentation in this video. Thanks for helping to give SPDude a lot to say for himself 😉

Thanks for your feedback. Based on the videos that you make on your KZbin channel, it's clear that you possess a deep understanding of issues related to mental health diagnosis, and how this is approached by the DSM.

I like him a lot and his constant use of "clusterfuck" really cracked me up.

a lotta truth there, me and angst had wanted the wiki's to update with the adaptation language and also to clarify why the "disorder" is actually referring to (disordering of lived life experience for them and of those around them).
@SchizoidVision7 ай бұрын
Sounds like a good idea. I've been focusing on adaptations more on this channel because with the exception of Elinor Greenberg, it is very under-publicised.

@@SchizoidVision Don't forget to include Nancy McWilliams in that effort- I recently found (thanks to another commenter) and have begun studying the PMD2, which she has been a prime mover in compiling and publishing. Too early for me to have a perception of its overall helpfulness, but it is organized around multiple axes of personality presentation rather than "clusters", tries to cross-reference to and expand (correct) the DSM and ICD criteria, is written from a non-pathologizing perspective, and states its purpose as a reference for practitioners rather than research and billing. It's thick and dense, but if more of us "disorderlies" read and understood it and were willing to participate in a discussion about our own lived experience and contribute our thoughts and support, we MIGHT be able to improve and promote its perspective and use in the psychology community and profession. I want to see Dr. Elinor, Dr. Nancy, and Dr. Penzy on popular television talk shows teaching this non-pathologizing perspective to the befuddled masses and pushing its adoption in university curricula- it's time for the truth, and an end to the mind(cluster)f*ckery.

@@SchizoidVisionDon't forget to include Nancy McWilliams in that exclusive club. Thanks to another commenter here I have begun studying the PMD2, of which Dr. Nancy has been a prime mover and organizer. It's thick (1100+ pages) and dense and I don't yet have a sense of its helpfulness, but if more of us "disorderlies" participated in conversation about our own lived experience and offered our input to help improve and promote it, it could become very influential and perhaps displace the current approach or at least be accepted as equally important. I want to see Dr. Elinor, Dr. Nancy, (Dr.) Penzy, and (Dr.) Angst on popular television talk shows promoting this non-pathologizing perspective to the befuddled masses and pushing for its adoption in university curricula- it's time for a change, enough of the mind(cluster)f*ckery.

yeah I hear that. But hearing her tale as to how she came up with it makes it a bit more understandable as to why.

Really interesting and the new term for the mix up in diagnosis. Shows the experts can learn from the patient, if they are humble and open to know the views of those living with the condition. It’s enlightening!
@SchizoidVision7 ай бұрын
Thanks, what you are saying about the experts is true. There is still a lot to be learned about the schizoid condition, as it is under-researched, and many mental health professionals have a limited understanding of schizoid phenomenology.
