We all have our own pathway in life to do the things we are supposed to do. My main purpose I have found is to do all I can to help the mental health cause. Your route might not necessarily be conventional but all the best ones aren’t. Love you Jacob.

I have my own mental health issues and have had them since I was a teen. I ended up no longer seeing a psychiatrist at the age of 17. No longer on meds either was on the antipsychotic and anticonvulsive regamin for what I have. I am 45 now with an MBA. From 8th grade till 11th it was a horror show for me. I had family issues with an abusive brother and a gaggle of idiots in high school that never would grow up. Dropped out of high school got my ged and tried college as fate would have it the idiots filtered into college too. So I had to quit. Came back a few years later after the wave of morons left.

I have to take self-paced classes, and I don't see the point much now that I'm almost 33. I used OpenLearn when I can. I've been waiting all day for my head to clear and to stop feeling like there's something in my brain. Today is wasted like yesterday.

Hi, I had same problems with school, I had social phobia,hyperactivity syndrome and personality disorder.I was studying with it till 10 grade, then it got real bad, and I quitted twice, eventually I started online learning school, and finished it at 21. No surprise I couldn’t move further in college or university ,health wasn’t getting better. Now I am almost 23 and Gonna try to make it to online university. Maybe you should try to study without going to school, I don’t know how it called where you from, or online school for that matter. By the way studying in older age is more interesting imho, when you are kid you think it’s all useless, but now I look back and damn that’s really interesting, this is how the world works, just amazing. And I think it’s also extremely important to find THE GOAL in your life, just to know what you want from that life, for me personally it holds me from falling into total bottom. Bad shit happens and it sucks, but good shit also might happen. You are still young, and there is still hope and time. I hope you will find a way out of this.)

I think you'd find college to be a lot better than highschool. As an adult you see school differently. I dropped out of high school also and I'm going back to college now. I really enjoy it. I can't handle the same workload as the other students so I would suggest you go back part time(you may be different than me I don't know but its a good place to start). It's hard to deal with the stress of school (even just for normal people) but if you add in mental illness then its a lot harder. I've had schizophrenia for 15 years and it's taken a tole on me. Just wanted to let you know it can be done. I didn't care about school so I dropped out and got my GED. Now I'm getting a 4.0 in college. I don't know what programs you have available to you but me and my worker used to go to the college about once a week just so I could get used to being on campus. It's not easy at first especially when you've isolated yourself for a very long time. It takes awhile to adjust and I still can't say I'm perfect.

I go to online college, this is the best kind of option for me personally because I'm starting to get older, your young still though, and I don't think anybody should feel pressured to go to school, some people just don't like it, but for me personally, online school healed my mental health because I like self-teaching myself, some things become difficult with online school though, like not being able to talk to your teacher directly if you need help with a paper and your computer crashes or something, but I like it personally because it keeps me on a schedule, and I look for the passion in the field, I don't really look at the dollar amount, and a lot of people don't realize that this is the most important part of working, I have ptsd which is a little different, with these people there generally calm people, as long as you don't trigger them off and hurt their feelings, but it can be done for those who want it done. Good luck to you though! it will get better, I promise.

Wow I’m a senior in hs and doing running start which is going to college full time while still in hs I got diagnosed a couple months ago which explained why I was doing so bad these past two years in school, difference is that I have the interest in some topics or classes in school but it’s so hard to focus and understand and it frustrates me so much that it’s so hard. I wish I could drop out and I wanted to for so long but I don’t want to do that to myself and not be successful in trying to fight it and push through. I feel everything you are saying, I’m so glad I found this video because I thought I was just lazy and crazy and dumb but I understand now that it’s our brain that is unbalanced.

I took a little summer school here and there but I finished. There was a lot of bullying for me until middle school was finished. In high school I'd go to the library because nobody liked me and I had no one to sit with at lunch. When the library was closed one day, I went to the bathroom and colored until lunch was over. I'm glad all that's over. I went to college and I failed everything except reading and public speaking. Out of six classes I only passed 2. I barely passed reading. But my teacher gave me the grade B for public speaking. To this day I'm so proud of me for that B.

Good video as always. I dropped out of school at the age of 15 due to Schizophrenia. Later on, I got my high school diploma online by taking Penn Foster high school classes. It was easier than regular school for me since it is self-paced and I was able to go at my pace. You should think about taking online high school classes to get your diploma.

I’m not sure if you have already made a video about this but what is the difference between voices that you hear and just thoughts in your head, like how do you know the difference? Just curious. I have ocd and tend to “self diagnose” and I keep thinking the thoughts I get in my head are voices and then I’ll think I’m getting schizophrenia. Probably sounds pretty stupid but. It is what it is.
@hellosalute3970
@hellosalute3970 6 жыл бұрын
I have both intrusive thoughts and audible voices. My schizophrenia will try its best to make me talk. Sometimes i actually cant tell the difference between my own thoughts and the intrusive thoughts. If your hearing intrusive thoughts you might have schizophrenia. Especially if it's all the time like mine is.
@MoneyBoyCJ
@MoneyBoyCJ 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Salute I don’t think intrusive thoughts are schizophrenia because intrusive thoughts are your own thoughts in your head, with schizophrenia you hear voices that you think are coming from outside of yourself.
@hellosalute3970

@@MoneyBoyCJ When your intrusive thoughts are telling you to kill people it is most definitely schizophrenia. Intrusive thoughts are beyond your control and are like someone is talking to you. They are not your own thoughts. It sounds like you dont have what I have. Thats a good thing.

Valentino De Vellis not to be rude but i disagree. I have schizophrenia and graduated high school at 23. I had dropped out due to depression and soon after developed schizophrenia. Probably you're able to maintain your rationality because you're an INTP (thinking type.) If you were a "feeling" type, you would not be as rational/coherent, because you wouldn't be able to make sense of your delusions. (Or figure-out whether they make sense of not.) A friend of mine has a similar condition, I believe; though he allows his delusions to run away with him. (Which is very frustrating.) We met on the internet, and although he's very lonely, I've given-up on trying to talk to him for this reason, and because I always feel like he misinterprets the things I say. I know he's sensitive to perceived criticism; but the problem is it doesn't matter what I say because I never know how he's going to react.

While i agree that self pity is part of his problem...its also a very large thing to bear. You might like to assume that humans can over come anything by pure will power and other things and that is true but its VERY hard to overcome things like this. I hate people who always say "tough it out, be a man" Bitch what if I pull out your eyeball slowly while you are on lsd. Thats what his pain is like......its extremely horrifying and painful because it goes to deepest part of your being. Imagine not being able to have the self strength to just overcome the pain as well. Some people lack that quality that you may indeed have abundantly
