Here I was as somebody into buses, trains, streetcars, etc. a little over a year & a half ago curious to see if there was a video on KZbin of a bus being towed... Never would I of guessed I would discover such an amazing channel & service. Keep up the great work, Ron!

The other day I was watching some of RepoNut's videos on autoplay, fell asleep, woke up to this video and spent way too long while half asleep trying to figure out how a school bus got repossessed...lol. Then I realized it was Ron Pratt. Your videos are great. No drama, and very interesting. And you bring a level of calm to tough situations in a way I doubt few people ever could. I don't know how you do it day in and day out, but well done!

Hello from Scotland. Really enjoying the videos Ron. I did 24 hour recovery some years ago and loved it, but the shifts were killers - 2 days on, 2 days off constant, eat and sleep when you could. I spent the first day of the 2 days off in bed! Then I got the best job of all - collecting cars for auction from all over the country with a twin-deck transporter and regular hours. Take care, stay safe, and God bless.

Ron Pratt You do a nice job of creating good content that should offend no-one. You teach being polite and respectful by example, and get across the concept of working to earn a living, and to take pride in that work. What the heck is wrong with people to leave nasty remarks about you, and we who enjoy watching what you do. I will never drive a tow truck, especially at my age, but its fun to ride along with you on youtube and enjoy the challenges and successes with you.

Great video and did not know all the tricks to towing a school bus. It appears you do not downshift when coming to a stop or slowing for a sharp turn and the tach looks to drop to idle RPM. The engine fan serves two purposes. It provides cooling for the engine coolant and it also comes on when the air conditioning is used. In the case of the air condition in the heat removal process is what is know as head pressure on the a/c compressor. The fan removes that heat also allowing that pressure to come down.

While it's always great to overcome a problem with maximum force, or to put it another way it's always nice to use the "big hammer," It's also cool to use JUST the right tool for the job - no overkill, the proverbial "just right."

I have to chuckle when you say small town and I see where you're driving. Where I come from (mid-Canada, farming community) our town is two miles long and has about 1000 people. It seems your town is a little bigger!

I was watching older videos and thought you should do something. Go over to the side with lights on, if people don't move over you have officers a bit in front of you ready to get them. -- Slow Down Move Over Trap -- as I'm calling it. Would be awesome to see!

I suppose that would be an idea. We just want folks to be safe and in turn, keep us safe so we can get home to our families. My father and son-in-law are in this with me and it is certainly an unwelcome thought that one of us might get hit. Thanks for thinking of us and God bless.

Ron Pratt Most definitely watch out. It's about the operators safety. I was watching a video based in California, apparently they have the same law, they said on average a tow truck operator gets hit every 6 days. It's bad people can't get over and some people lose their life over it. God bless.

Certainly in UK the vast majority of drivers could not care less about what is occurring - as far as they are concerned you are a huge nuisance and they will not slow down or move over a bit. So many reports of recovery/incident personnel being injured, sometimes fatally. A sad world sometimes where little respect is afforded.

I'll bet the bus might've gone into limp mode. I drove school buses 12 yrs down here in the Bootheel & Piggott Ark and never had to be towed in. I mostly drove in Kennett. The mechanic did have to come out one morning on my route & put the shifter back in the transmission. Somehow I jerked it plum out! I made a few out of town trips to Scott City. I'm a new subscriber too.

Great hook up and well explained. Now, clearly if the bus had air ride it is always best to at least put one chain on the rear axle while the bus is in the lowered position to prevent damage to the airbags. I am sure you already checked for that. I simply added that for those that didn't know that. One more thing, sometimes even without airbags, it doesn't hurt to chain up the rear axle anyway to allow for the extra clearance for the front of the bus even if it only gave you another 2 inches... Food for thought. Truth is this was a great training video for the new drivers.. Good job Ron...:)
